Hu Zongnan, who was frustrated in the workplace, thought that home was the best harbor, but when he returned home, he found that his parents with feudal ideas found a wife he had never met. Hu Zongnan's multiple blows disgust made Hu Zongnan breathless, so Hu Zongnan made a bold decision, he chose to ease his mood by running away from home.

Hu Zongnan spent several years in society on his own, until 1924, when Hu Zongnan learned of the enrollment of the Whampoa Military Academy, he resolutely signed up and successfully entered the re-examination with the support of his friends.

Just as Hu Zongnan was excitedly waiting in line with the registration form to wait for the final exam, an instructor walked up to Hu Zongnan and stopped. I saw this instructor looking up and down at Hu Zongnan. In front of this batch of candidates, Hu Zongnan obviously did not have any advantage in appearance. The instructor estimated that he was less than one meter tall6, and immediately disqualified Hu Zongnan in front of many candidates.
This sudden blow broke the last line of defense in Hu Zongnan's heart, and finally he couldn't help but cry bitterly. After a while, Hu Zongnan thought that if he returned to his hometown like this, he would still have any face to talk about, or maybe he would not be able to make a big achievement in this life.
Thinking of this, Hu Zongnan resolutely refuted the instructor's point of view, and shouted at the instructor: "Why did you cancel the exam opportunity because of my height." Hu Zongnan then presented three examples of refuting the instructor.
First, Napoleon was less than one meter seven in height, but he was still on horseback and conquering the four sides, so why did his height become the criterion for limiting whether a person had the examination; second, the famous Mr. Sun Yat-sen of the Whampoa Military Academy was less than one meter seven in height; third, the excellent revolutionary Liao Zhongkai was shorter than Dr. Sun Yat-sen, so why did a small man not have the qualifications for the examination?

He was promoted from regimental commander to theater commander in 7 years, and the promotion was so fast that he broke the record of the national army.
