The iPhone15 launched in 2023 will all use self-developed chips for the first time, of which the 5G chip will use TSMC's 5nm process, the RF IC will use TSMC's 7nm process, and the A17 application processor will use TSMC's 3nm mass production.

Previously, according to Nikkei Asia, Apple is establishing a closer cooperative relationship with TSMC, hoping to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm and planning to let TSMC produce iPhone 5G baseband from 2023.

Qualcomm chief financial officer Akash Palkhiwala has said that the proportion of iPhone models expected to be shipped by Apple in 2023 will use Qualcomm 5G modems is only 20%, suggesting that Apple will soon mass-produce self-developed baseband chips.
