For the first time, the 2023 iPhone 15 will all be equipped with Apple's self-developed chips

Webmaster's Home (ChinaZ.com) January 10 news: According to supply chain news, Apple's iPhone 14 launched next year will be equipped with Samsung's 4nm process Qualcomm 5G data chip X65 and RF IC, with Apple's A16 application processor.

The iPhone15 launched in 2023 will all use self-developed chips for the first time, of which the 5G chip will use TSMC's 5nm process, the RF IC will use TSMC's 7nm process, and the A17 application processor will use TSMC's 3nm mass production.

Previously, according to Nikkei Asia, Apple is establishing a closer cooperative relationship with TSMC, hoping to reduce its dependence on Qualcomm and planning to let TSMC produce iPhone 5G baseband from 2023.

Qualcomm chief financial officer Akash Palkhiwala has said that the proportion of iPhone models expected to be shipped by Apple in 2023 will use Qualcomm 5G modems is only 20%, suggesting that Apple will soon mass-produce self-developed baseband chips. In May 2021, Tianfeng International analyst Mingxi Guo also said that Apple's own 5G baseband chip may debut in the 2023 iPhone model.
