During the Yongzheng period, he had three favorite ministers, namely Long Keduo, Nian Qianyao, and Li Wei. The fate of the first two can be said to be very bleak, and Long Keduo was awarded the first class bodyguard in the twenty-seventh year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1688). On his deathbed, Kangxi repeatedly sent edicts to the imperial court and conferred on him the title of Minister of Gu Ming. During the Yongzheng period, he was also responsible for the affairs of the imperial court.
And Nian Qianyao must be more familiar to everyone, also in the Kangxi period has been established, in the Yongzheng reign was reused, the official to the governor of Sichuan, the governor of Sichuan and Shaanxi, the general of Fuyuan, the crown of Taibao, the first class duke. In the entire Yongzheng Dynasty, there was no second minister who was more favored than Nian Qianyao.
However, neither Nian Qianyao nor Long Keduo finally received a good death, and in the fourth year of Yongzheng (1726), Nian Qianyao was listed as a ninety-two major crime and ordered to raid his home. Long Keduo was also imprisoned in the fifth year of Yongzheng (1727) with the announcement of forty-one major crimes, and eventually died in prison.
Among The three favorite ministers of Yongzheng, the only one who could die well was Li Wei. Many people may not understand that among these three favorites, Li Wei's origin is the lowest. Why did he just get Yongzheng's trust? And since then, it has been on the rise.
According to the "Qing History Manuscript Li Wei Biography", Li Wei was born in Tongshan, Jiangnan (present-day Li Zhai, Dashahe Town, Feng County, Xuzhou, Jiangsu), and was a rich second generation from an early age. We know that in ancient times, it was all heavy agriculture and suppressing commerce, but in the Qing Dynasty, it was changed, which was reflected in a very important place, that is, it was able to use money to buy officials.
Several emperors of the Qing Dynasty opened up the system, also in order to make the national treasury more abundant. In the fifty-sixth year of the Kangxi Dynasty (1717), the 30-year-old Li Wei "donated funds" to buy an official position of a foreign minister, but it was a high official from Wupin. This is higher than the starting point of many soldiers.
When Li Wei betrayed his official position, it was the most intense time when the "Kowloon Seizure" incident broke out during the Kangxi Dynasty. And Li Wei was fortunate that he stood in the right line, on Yongzheng's side. So this is the first reason why Yongzheng trusts Li Wei.
The second reason is that when Li Wei was an official, there was a prince in charge of the household department who charged fees arbitrarily, and Li Wei reported the prince in a very clever way. Later, this matter spread to the court and left a deep impression on Yongzheng.
After Yongzheng succeeded to the throne, he made Li Wei the Governor of Zhejiang, and later concurrently served as the envoy of the two Zhejiang Salts, and in a short period of time Li Wei became a member of the imperial court and a feudal official.
The reasons why Li Wei is reused can be summed up in three points, the first is that he once stood in the right team, the second is that he is just and upright, and the third is that he is shrewd and capable. But these three points the other two favorites Long Keduo and Nian Tangyao can also account for seven seven eight eight. Li Wei was trusted and more importantly, he had no ambitions and never formed a private party. Know what you can do to do it the best you can, and know what you can't do and never touch it.
