In the autumn of 1958, an archaeological team composed of teachers and students from the History Department of Peking University came to Quanhu Village in Huaxian County, and the archaeological team excavated the ruins while investigating the nearby villagers. As a result, it was unexpectedly found that a pot used by villagers to feed chickens was more than 6,000 years ago, opening the Shang Dynasty bird and beast shape bronze shape of the first river of Tao Yingding, immeasurable value, in 2002 by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage listed in the "First Batch of Cultural Relics Prohibited from Going Abroad (Border) Exhibition Catalogue".

Many lovers of cultural relics collection can't help but sigh that it was fortunate to be excavated by the archaeological team of the History Department of Peking University, otherwise the national treasure in this national treasure would be dusted. In fact, there are many precious cultural relics excavated in the folk, many of which look very old because of their age and appearance, and are discarded as "waste products", and even unintentionally destroyed.
One of the main reasons for this series of phenomena is that most people do not have enough awareness of the protection of cultural relics, and at the same time, because they lack the ability to appreciate and identify basic cultural relics, so even if they encounter precious cultural relics, if the shape is not attractive enough, they will be treated as "scrap copper and rotten iron".
In the 1980s, a fisherman surnamed Chen in Chongqing caught a "scrap iron pillar" when he was fishing on the river, which weighed 90 kilograms and was 75 centimeters high. Old Chen wasted a lot of effort to catch it, almost did not break the fishing net, originally thought it was a fish, but did not expect to be a piece of "scrap iron".
After Lao Chen came ashore, he called a trailer, and dragged it to the "waste station" with the strength of the waste, Lao Chen planned to sell this iron pillar to the waste station, the owner of the waste station was a person who knew the goods, and immediately 65 yuan bought out the iron pillar in Lao Chen's hand, at that time 64 yuan was not a small amount, lao Chen naturally sold it willingly.
However, the news that Lao Chen fished for 64 yuan in the "iron pillar" soon went away, and even the local cultural relics department was alarmed. After hearing the news, the expert quickly rushed to the scrap station, and when the expert saw the "bird seal inscription" inscribed on the iron pillar, he knew that the iron pillar was not simple.
The so-called "Bird Seal Script" is an artistic font popular in Chu, Wu, Yue, Cai, Zeng, Song, Xu and other countries during the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, which appeared in the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period and flourished in the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States Period, and gradually became scarce by the end of the Warring States Period, but it still remained. The bird seal inscription on this "iron pillar" was inscribed during the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.
According to historical records, during the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, heavy iron piers were widely cast in the southwest region, mainly used to build bridges, and the materials alone were exquisite, and they were indeed not worth a few dollars. However, very few piers have survived so far, and the "iron pillar" that Lao Chen fished is the pier handed down from the Time of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago. The value of cultural relics is immeasurable, and I did not expect to be sold directly by Lao Chen for 65 yuan.
After consulting with the owner of the waste station, the experts then spent 200 yuan to buy this bridge pier from the owner of the waste station during the Han Wudi period, and now this pier is stored in the Sichuan Provincial Museum and has become the treasure of the town hall. Some experts estimate that the market value of this pier is at least more than 100 million. That is to say, Lao Chen sold 64 yuan at that time, and now he has lost at least 100 million. It can be seen that learning a little knowledge of cultural relics can still play a great role in key times.
