Wait for me

Text/Simonov

Wait for me—I'll be back.

It's just that you have to wait bitterly,

Wait until the sad rain

Arouse your sorrows,

Wait until the snow falls,

Wait until the heat is hard to endure

Wait until others no longer look forward to their loved ones,

Everything in the past, an ancient brain, put aside.

Wait until you're far away

No more letters from home,

Wait until the people who are waiting together

Discouraged and lazy – all tired.

Wait for me -- I'll be back,

Do not bless those people with peace:

They said in a nutshell—

Forget it, waiting is in vain!

Even though the Beloved Son and the Loving Mother think—

I am no longer on earth

Even if friends are tired of waiting,

Sit around the fire,

Sip bitter wine, recommend the undead...

You're going to have to wait!"

Don't be with them,

Busy holding up the wine cup.

Wait for me –I'll be back:

Death has been thwarted by me again and again!

Let the one who has not waited for me

Say I'm lucky – surprised!

Those who don't wait will not understand--

Thanks to your bitter waiting,

On the battlefield full of artillery fire,

From the hands of death, it was you who saved me.

How I escaped death,

Only you and I understand.--

Just because you are different from others,

You are good at waiting bitterly.
