The "8 million copies" sold by the director of "No More In the Past" may not be accurate

We previously reported that Jeff Ross, director of "Gone With the Past," posted that the game sold more than 8 million copies on the PlayStation platform and more than a million copies after landing on Steam. And he seemed to say with resentment: "But the studio management always thinks this game is not working." And because Jeff Ross didn't indicate the source of this sales figure at the time, many players questioned it.

Recently, David Jeffey, producer of the Vehicles of Fire series, interviewed Jeff Rose on his YouTube channel, and Ross indicated that his previous source of sales data was a website called Gamestat, which tracks trophy data to calculate the approximate number of players (which is currently closed).

In this case, both used games and PS Plus free-to-play games ("The Past Is Gone" was one of the free games that PS Plus would have last April) will be counted into the "8 million copies". But Jeff Ross later said on social networks that he was still sticking to his previously announced sales.
