According to the data released by the National Health Commission, the Health Times reporter combed through the data from December 6 to January 8, 2021, at 00:00, a month, the number of new cases nationwide reached 2979. Local outbreaks have occurred in Inner Mongolia, Guangxi, Henan, Zhejiang and Shaanxi. After December 26, more than 100 new cases were added in a single day for 10 consecutive days.
Wang Hufeng, director of the Medical Reform Research Center of Chinese Min University and researcher of the National Development Institute of Chinese Min University, told the Health Times reporter that in view of such a domestic epidemic situation, the pressure of external prevention and internal defense rebound is still very large.
Judging from the national epidemic data, in the past month, there have been local epidemics in Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Zhejiang Shaoxing, Zhejiang Ningbo, and Henan. Sporadic cases have occurred in Guangxi, Guangdong, Tianjin, etc.
Professor Wang Hufeng introduced that since the new crown epidemic, we have explored and summarized a set of prevention and control measures to deal with the epidemic, including rapid screening, accurate prevention and control measures. According to past experience, if the early response to the epidemic is agile and the measures are appropriate, the epidemic can be effectively controlled in one month, and it will take about a month and a half to completely end, basically a wave of local epidemics is such a cycle.
At present, in November and December last year, the local epidemic situation in Inner Mongolia has entered the final stage, Inner Mongolia has been zero new for 20 consecutive days, and the Hailar District People's Hospital, as the designated centralized treatment hospital for this round of epidemic, has received a total of 294 local cases since December 4 last year. On 3 January, the hospital cleared up cases.
At the beginning of December last year, the local epidemic situation in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, also entered the final stage, and on December 24 last year, after zero new additions appeared in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, it has maintained zero new additions. However, on January 1 this year, a new round of local epidemics appeared in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, and as of 00:00 on January 7, Zhejiang Province has accumulated 34 new confirmed cases. Wave after wave of the new crown epidemic in Zhejiang Province has brought great pressure on prevention and control.
In addition, the two places where the epidemic situation in China is more serious are Shaanxi Province and Henan Province. Judging from the data, in the past week, the peak of the number of new people in Shaanxi has passed, and the number of new confirmed cases has been declining, from 100 digits to double digits.
While the epidemic in Shaanxi has been effectively controlled, there have been new local epidemics in Henan. On January 5 and 6, the number of new cases in Henan increased for two consecutive days, with double digits, and the epidemic was in its early stages. Moreover, the epidemic in Henan has affected many cities in the province, such as Zhengzhou, Luoyang, Xuchang, Zhoukou, Shangqiu and Xinyang.
Wang Hufeng reminded that the awareness of epidemic prevention and control must not be relaxed, and masks still need to be worn for a period of time. Epidemic prevention requires multiple protective measures, and wearing masks, washing hands frequently, vaccinate, and avoiding gatherings are all essential.
