It's another year, and the "Hero Choice" visual gameplay update vote is back. We're still working on transforming Udir, and once his work is done, it's time to start the next hero. Voting is open.
You can complete your vote by 12:00 p.m. Beijing time on January 17. Vote directly within the League of Legends client. To consider your options, the vote cannot be modified after it is submitted.
We've selected five heroes with a high priority for updates, and we'll update them regardless of which one you ultimately choose. Development may take several months to start, and once it starts, we report on progress on a regular basis, as we have done with recent update projects. This allows us to continue to collect ideas and feedback to ensure the desired results, especially for players who have always loved these heroes and made them the main hero.
Well, let's take a look at the updated direction of each hero.
Tedamir
Tedamir has accumulated a very solid player base over the years and is a pivotal figure for Freilderd. However, he is also starting to show old age, especially in terms of gameplay and appearance. What we think works best for him is a modern visual gameplay update similar to Panson's, rather than a complete redo.
If we were to update Tedamir, we would keep his Split Propulsion and Critical Strike Weapon bonus features. His skills will remain simple and straightforward, and his signature moves will not change. But his treatment, pre-performance, and influence in team battles are all areas we hope to dig deeper into in the update.
Shivana
Shivana's overall appearance is not as old as the other candidate heroes, and she is similar to Arrelia and Akari, but it needs to be redone because the performance in the game does not fully reflect the human theme.
If Shivana were to be renewed, we wanted to make the "warrior who could transform into a fire-breathing dragon" truly worthy of his name. In terms of gameplay, we will increase the deterrent and destructive power of her dragon form, which is better distinguished from her human form.
Magic
Magic Is a very interesting visual gameplay update example. He's one of the most popular heroes for new players, but most people will soon abandon him. This shows that The gameplay and appearance of Moteng are very attractive, but the actual effect is not ideal.
If we were to update Morten, we would like to be able to achieve the first impression he left on people and make him truly a nightmare that plunges the enemy into darkness. Morten's signature moves will be retained, but we'll match him with deeper, more satisfying base skills. At the same time, we will also update the appearance of Moteng, so that he is worthy of his name, Eternal Nightmare.
Kegmo
Kegmo is simply the opposite of old and strong. His skills are messed up, swinging left and right between the Super Late ADC and the main AP shooter. And compared to the more evil Void Compatriots, he also seemed out of place. While we love this cute Void Puppy, we also think he should be more... A little bit of emptiness.
If we were to update Kegmo, we would fully redo his skills while enhancing his ultra-high-growth, "protect dogs" output style with automatic attacks at its core. We will try to retain his AP shooter function, but if the situation does not allow, we can only sacrifice this part to fully highlight his side as a powerful AD output.
Skanau
Skaner is one of the lowest-playing heroes, and to be honest, he has a lot of problems. We intend to completely redesign his skills and themes, similar to earlier visual gameplay updates for Sain and Aggart. Like his fellow ShellMen, Skaner's Crystal Scorpion setting is a relic of a bygone era, and we will provide him with a clearer and more attractive source of power. In this way, his appearance and backstory will change a lot.
As for his skills, his appearance rate is still so low despite repeated adjustments, indicating that the problem is too deeply rooted and can only be solved by complete redoing. We may retain some of the basic elements and ideas, but his new skill design will take on exciting new themes that would achieve results that current designs can't.
Don't forget to vote on the League of Legends client and follow the results. Looking forward to seeing everyone's hero choice!
