The Red 5 Army had only a few hundred men left, and it had already died in name only, and soon the military structure was abolished, and Zhu Liangcai was transferred to the Political Department of the Red 30 Army as deputy director and director of the Organization Department. However, the Red 30Th Army fought several battles with the enemy, but it still failed to change the difficult situation. At Shiwo, the general headquarters decided to divide the remaining 2,000 men into two road armies, the left road was dominated by the Red 30Th Army, and the right road was dominated by the Red 9th Army headquarters for a breakthrough. Although they ran away from their opponents, they all ran away. Later, Zhu Liangcai, Li Jukui, and Fang Qiang each experienced hardships and dangers and successfully returned to the Red Army. In September 1955, Zhu Liangcai and Li Jukui were awarded generals and Fang Qiang was awarded lieutenant generals. A single shot saved three generals — a miracle.
After Zhu Liangcai became single, he decided to return to northern Shaanxi to find the Red Army. Then he did not dare to take the main road, only the small road, on the way met a coal digger, very sympathetic to him, changed his clothes.
The next day, Zhu Liangcai had just walked into a village, and the enemy soldiers were coming in from the other side of the village. He hurried into a house. After the enemy left, he took out a dollar and bought a pair of shoes from his master, who gave him some dried steamed buns. Zhu Liangcai was on the road again, walking hurriedly on a small road, and he was about to walk out of the enemy encirclement, but in the distance he found a group of enemy soldiers approaching head-on. Seeing that he could not dodge, he immediately "poofed" and jumped into a ditch on the side of the road.

Zhu Liangcai jumped like this, and even startled a rabbit on the side of the road. The rabbit was frightened and jumped into the ditch. Enemy soldiers chased after him. Zhu Liangcai saw that the situation was critical, and secretly cried that it was not good, and he was definitely going to be a prisoner! Unexpectedly, the rabbit flew forward again, and the enemy soldiers chased after the rabbit, but they did not find Zhu Liangcai.
In this way, Zhu Liang highlighted the encirclement of the enemy soldiers.
Then, he slept in the open, walked for more than a month, reached the edge of Lanzhou City, and then asked an old man about the route to the Qingyao Tree. The old man looked at him and said:

After passing through Lanzhou, Zhu Liangcai continued to travel eastward, and after going through all kinds of hardships, he finally reached Zhenyuan in Gansu and found the Red Army to aid the Western Army. General Song Renqian, who was then the director of the Political Department of the Western Aid Army, later recalled:

After the breakout, Zhu Liangcai lasted 36 days and finally returned to the Red Army.
