In 1950, General Cao Dongzhi was killed by bandits, and his superiors were furious: to send an army to catch the real culprit

In the early morning of July 31, 1950, shortly after the meeting

Cao Dongzhi

The general, dragging his tired body in the direction of the garrison, along the way, looking at the rising red sun above his head, the general could not help but have thousands of thoughts in his heart: With the efforts of all the patriots, the People's Republic of China has been formally established, and it is reasonable to say that in the next period of time, cadres should devote themselves to national construction, but there are still bandits, hooligans and other reactionaries in the country, and the Party Central Committee has to draw strength and struggle against it.

Among all the reactionary forces, bandits in the Ningxia region are rampant, and this gang has relied on a certain amount of force to do evil in the local area, causing the people to suffer unspeakable. In order to eliminate this force, he would often form bandit detachments and lead his subordinates to fight against it.

For a long time, he had been working diligently on the front lines of the battle, and he had made countless plans to eliminate the bandits. These plans have been quite effective, and thanks to the unremitting efforts of the officers and men of the Ningxia Military Region, the cause of suppressing bandits is nearing its end. According to the current situation, I believe that in the near future, the people in Ningxia will not be harassed by bandits!

Thinking like this, General Cao Dongzhi's body seemed to be injected with strength again, and he struggled to move forward, and he had a new vision for a better tomorrow!

However, the next second, a criminal bullet shattered the general's illusion, and at dawn, General Cao Dongzhi was hit by the bullet and closed his eyes forever!

After the bad news spread, the superior leaders were angry, and even more generals slapped the table and roared:

"Check! Hurry up and check it out! Even if you send out an army, you must catch the real culprit! We absolutely cannot tolerate such evil elements that undermine social stability! ”

So, who was the real murderer of General Cao Dongzhi? How did he learn the general's whereabouts?

General Cao Dongzhi, whose original name was Cao Kaicheng, was born in 1906 and came from Hengshan County, Shaanxi Province. The general's parents were just ordinary local farmers, the only difference being that his parents were more far-sighted than others. During that difficult era, the two supported Cao Dongzhi to go to school without complaint, and in 1915, the general officially entered the County's MaoWusu Primary School. In 1920, Cao Dongzhi transferred to Hengshan County To study at Ligao Elementary School, and after the outbreak of the great revolution, he had the privilege of being exposed to revolutionary ideas and began to have a new understanding of society.

In 1925, the revolutionary atmosphere became more and more intense, and in this year's study career, Cao Dongzhi joined the strike organized by a number of patriotic students such as Gao Xiao, Lu Ben, and Gao Gang in Hengshan County, which was called "a high tide of study" in history. In that event, many students united to overthrow the corrupt old school system and oppose the authorities' authorities' authorities, and with the solidarity of the caring masses, the authorities removed the authoritarian county magistrates and principals, and the event was a complete success. However, it was precisely because of this success that the disgruntled reactionary high-level officials took the opportunity to expel Cao Dongzhi and others from their academic qualifications.

If ordinary people experience such accidents, they may lose their will to struggle, become ordinary people from now on, and no longer dare to engage in revolutionary activities, but Cao Dongzhi is obviously not an ordinary person, and he is not frightened. After being expelled from the school, Cao Dongzhi, who had enough talent, was soon admitted to jingjing primary school in Jingbian County, and after graduating from this school, he was admitted to yulin directly under the middle school.

In 1926, the progressive youth of Yulin Middle School launched a student autonomy movement, and after learning the news, Cao Dongzhi did not hesitate to participate in this huge activity. Over time, the interests of the reactionary warlords were offended by this activity, so soon after, the reactionary northern Shaanxi warlord Jing Yuexiu ordered cao Dongzhi's school registration to be expelled again. In order not to allow them to continue to organize activities, Cao Dongzhi was also escorted out of Yulin City by the reactionary armed forces, and later sent back to Hengshan County to work as a farmer, and he was no longer allowed to go out.

In those dark years, Cao Dongzhi may have felt unfair about the treatment he had suffered, but he never regretted his patriotic activities, and even if he could only farm in his hometown, he never gave up fighting against the reactionaries! After learning about his deeds, party leaders were also impressed by his righteous deeds, and in 1927, Qian Damin, the head of the underground party organization in Hengshan County, found Cao Dongzhi and invited him to join the Communist Party of China.

Knowing that he could join a patriotic organization like the Communist Party, Cao Dongzhi was overjoyed, and after many tests by the party, Cao Dongzhi officially became a member of our party. In the autumn of the same year, Lu Ben, secretary of the special branch of the Party in Hengshan County, was transferred out of Hengshan County, and subsequently, Cao Dongzhi, who was trusted by the organization, took over the post of secretary of the special branch.

In the years that followed, Cao Dongzhi disguised himself as a teacher, spreading revolutionary truths to the masses while secretly forming guerrilla groups. He was indeed a genius, and in just a few months he and the members of the organization formed a revolutionary guerrilla force with dozens of men and dozens of guns.

In 1928, after the outbreak of the Agrarian Revolutionary War, Cao Dongzhi led this guerrilla group to begin to rob the rich and help the poor near Xigou Village, at the same time, he would often go deep among the masses, mobilize the people to resist grain and donations, and do his part to strengthen the guerrilla forces.

In 1929, Cao Dongzhi led a guerrilla force into the Wushen Banner of the Yikezhao League in Inner Mongolia, during which time he attacked the local reactionary armed forces and opened up guerrilla zones to bring the seeds of revolution to new places.

Between 1930 and 1931, Cao Dongzhi received instructions from his superiors to secretly infiltrate the Kuomintang Cavalry Regiment of Liang Gao Shixiong in Jingbian County, where he awakened patriotic youth. With his efforts, the officers and men of a company of the corps were awakened, and under his organization, a riot campaign was launched. After the end of the uprising, some people formed a Mongol cavalry guerrilla group and began to operate in the Islamic League area.

In 1934, in gratitude for the heroism of the guerrilla group, the organization officially incorporated it into the twenty-two detachments of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army in northern Shaanxi, and Cao Dongzhi was promoted to detachment leader and political commissar, and he led the team to move in Wushenqi, Chengchuan and other areas, expanding the revolutionary influence.

In 1935, Cao Dongzhi and Wu Yaxiong formed the Menghan Cavalry Guerrilla Group, and he served as the leader of the unit, leading the comrades of the cavalry unit to race inside and outside the Great Wall and the Suimeng Grassland to fight against the counter-revolutionaries. In August of the same year, Cao Dongzhi's commanders captured Hengshan. In September, he led his subordinates to liberate the people of Duxinzhuang. In October, they captured Heifengzi. These heroic deeds have made the leaders of the Party Central Committee pay more and more attention to them, and some generals have called them:

"A brave and fearless cavalry team that can sing and cry."

It is worth mentioning that when forming guerrilla troops, they encountered a financial crisis, and General Cao Dongzhi took the lead in contributing his family property, and the revolution could go so smoothly, and he played an indispensable role in it.

In 1936, the revolutionary road was even more arduous, in order to strengthen its own strength, the party organization in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region of Dingbian County, where the trilateral sub-district is located, the mongolian working committee, Gao Gang was appointed as the chairman of the committee, Cao Dongzhi, Zhao Tongru and others participated in it, united the strength of ethnic minorities, called on the Mongolian people to resist Japan together.

During this time, Cao Dongzhi and his younger brother Cao Bucheng secretly infiltrated the Urallin area of Wushen Banner under the guise of being a wrangler and carried out revolutionary work under the instructions of the central authorities. In order to achieve their goals, the two often walked into the herdsmen's tents to exchange feelings with them, and created a secret party liaison network while spreading the idea of resisting Japan and saving the country.

In 1937, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Cao Dongzhi successively served as the secretary of the Working Committee of the Wuxian Banner of the Communist Party of China and a member of the Working Committee of the Islamic League of the Communist Party of China, actively resisting Japanese devils and devoting himself to the work of forming a democratic revolutionary armed force.

In 1941, after the second liberation of the Seongcheon area, Cao Dongzhi was awarded the post of director of the Seongcheon Mongol Working Committee. In order to complete the tasks entrusted to him by his superiors, Cao Dongzhi repeatedly established The Mongol and Han cavalry guerrillas, and sent a large number of soldiers and cadres with the heart of resistance to the main army.

At the same time, he also assisted Qi Jinshan, Wang Yuefeng and others in planning and instigating the uprising of the Xiwu trial troops. After the uprising, Cao Dongzhi also led Qi Jinshan, Yang Yuqing and other rebel generals to Visit and Study in Yan'an, which made Qi Jinshan change his mind and become a good friend of our party.

Cao Dongzhi's work over the years has also been effective, and most of the local Mongolians have gradually realized the greatness of the Chinese Communist Party and have begun to have the idea of cooperating with the work of party organization members. Cao Dongzhi was also deeply loved and supported by the Mongolian people, and the locals respected him as "Cao Qingtian".

In 1946, the Japanese devils had already surrendered to our side, but because of the selfish desires of the Kuomintang diehards, the Chinese people were still in the midst of fierce war. In order to rescue the people, Cao Dongzhi accepted instructions from the central authorities and participated in the battle to defend the border area and sweep the outskirts of the northern front. Through the efforts of all the soldiers, The cities of Zhenchuan Fort and Xiangshui Fort have been liberated successively.

After a while, the people began to launch an offensive against the county seat of Hengshan County, in order to win the uprising of the Kuomintang garrison in the Hengshan County area, Cao Dongzhi and the local cadre Li Kunrun risked death, went into the city alone to negotiate with the enemy, and under the persuasion of the two men, Wang Yongqing, Duan Baoshan and other generals decided to revolt, so hengshan county was peacefully liberated.

In March 1947, Chiang Kai-shek, who was an immortal thief, sent hundreds of thousands of officers and men to march into the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region, and after receiving the news, Ma Hongkui, who was acting recklessly in Ningxia, also mobilized his subordinates to prepare to attack the trilateral sub-districts, so many enemies attacked our army's positions together, and the people's liberation army forces fell into a critical situation.

However, the central authorities were not intimidated by the enemy's mighty offensive, and at the critical moment, Cao Dongzhi was awarded the post of deputy commander of the trilateral eastern front operations, leading the Mongol cavalry detachments and various guerrilla units to stop the Mongol rebels, and the safety of the people on the three sides was guaranteed.

In 1948, Cao Dongzhi was transferred from the original department and was appointed chief of staff of the trilateral military sub-district headquarters, and in August of the same year, he was sent by the central leaders to Negotiate with Qiyushan, the king of the flag, and after a war of words and words, the East Wushen Banner was peacefully liberated.

In August 1949, Cao Dongzhi led a team to join the liberation campaign in Ningxia, and on September 23, the people of Ningxia officially ushered in a better tomorrow.

In October of the same year, the central government established the Ningxia Provincial Military District on the basis of the former Trilateral Military Sub-district, and Cao Dongzhi was appointed deputy commander of the military region.

In April 1950, Cao Dongzhi was transferred to the recently liberated Alxa Banner as the secretary of the working committee and the commander of the security.

During his tenure as secretary of the Alxa Banner Working Committee, Cao Dongzhi always had a "big problem in his heart" that had not been solved, and he was a bandit in Ningxia

Guo embolus

In 1950, General Cao Dongzhi was killed by bandits, and his superiors were furious: to send an army to catch the real culprit

Originally known as Guo Yongsheng, this Guo Tuozi worked as a bandit in the Helan Mountains for more than 20 years, and his long-term misdeeds made him famous, and the locals fearfully called him "King of Helan" and "King of Guo Yan".

During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Kuomintang reactionary warlord Ma Hongkui had planned to send heavy troops to suppress it, but because guo's area was easy to defend and difficult to attack, the reactionaries had been unable to do so. Seeing that he could not attack for a long time, Ma Hongqi gave up the suppression and began to use the means of co-optation, he named Guo Tuozi as the "Commander of the Helan Mountain Garrison" and married his own daughter to him.

When our army attacked Ningxia, Guo Shuzi understood that the general trend of the nationalist army had gone, and in that case, he began to surrender to our side. Based on the idea of unity, our army accepted his surrender and appointed him as the captain of the Helan garrison, leading his subordinates to garrison the Huangqu Bridge in Pingluo County.

If this development continues, even if Guo Embolus has committed all kinds of crimes before, he can atone for his sins and become a man again in the years to come, but unfortunately, Guo Embolus has once again embarked on a detour.

During the period when he was the head of the Helan Garrison, Guo Tuozi still did not break the contact with the Kuomintang agents. As an outlaw, most of the people around Guo Shuzi are not good people, and his wife is one of them. The lady had been pampered since she was a child, and after Guo Zhaozi surrendered, the food, clothing, shelter and transportation provided by the Communist Party obviously could not satisfy her desires, so she often complained in front of Guo Zhaozi:

"When the Communist Party does this, it simply looks down on you..."

Guo's subordinates also often talked in front of him. After listening to such words a lot, Guo Shuozi, who originally did not really want to surrender, also began to have strange ideas.

One morning in 1950, Guo Zizi righteously deceived the people and said:

"In response to the call of the state, I decided to lead the troops to the yanzidun Mijia Shawo Mountain to reclaim wasteland, and if I engage in production, I can make the field my home, and I hope to bring my family over."

His words made everyone feel a little inexplicable, but "production" is indeed the central task at present, and the crowd did not stop him.

In this way, this morning, Guo Shuzi hurriedly left the garrison with his wife, children, valuables, more than 60 young laborers, and plenty of guns and ammunition.

After arriving at the edge of the Mijia Shawo Mountain, Guo Zhaozi gathered the crowd and deceived the people:

"The Third World War is about to begin, and when the fighting breaks out, Chiang Kai-shek will send troops to counterattack the mainland, and when the time comes, the Communist Party will surely fall behind." The Ningxia resistance forces have mobilized troops and are always ready for riots, and our low status and insufficient strength will require us to go ahead of others, and only then will we be able to reap more benefits. ”

Seeing that the crowd was silent, he added:

"I have dealt with Ma Hongkui's tens of thousands of troops, and they can't help me, and now the Communist Party in Ningxia has such a little strength, there is no need to be afraid." Moreover, I am very familiar with the terrain of the mountain roads in the Helan area, and I know exactly which one can fight and which one can run. I Guo Mou has a set to deal with them, there is nothing to be afraid of, everyone believes in me, follow me, in the future will definitely not let you regret it, maybe then everyone can make a fuss. ”

Immediately after, he continued: "Those who intend to go up the mountain follow me, and those who don't want to, now they can also put down their guns and leave, and I will never stop guo." After saying these words, Guo Shuozi seemed to look around with great ease, and the young adults present looked at me, I looked at you, and they all had their own little calculations in their hearts.

A few minutes later, a few people who still had conscience really put down their guns and ran quickly to the back, but they could not run away from Guo's gun, and after a few gunshots, they fell in a pool of blood.

Such a tragic situation frightened the rest of the people, and they all knew that if they did not listen to Guo Zhaozi, there was only one way to die now. For the sake of life safety, everyone "willingly" became a bandit and followed Guo Zhaozi in the direction of Helan Mountain.

Guo Shuzi was worthy of being a bandit leader who had been running amok in the Helan Mountain area for many years, and he had a very good way of handling things, and under his instructions, in just a few days, the subordinate bandits expanded to more than 90 people. Guo Shuzi named this band of bandits the "Ningxia Military Region Headquarters of the Northwest Anti-Soviet Communist Salvation Army", self-appointed commander of the military region, and led them to collude with the local gangsters and burn and rob everywhere.

In 1950, General Cao Dongzhi was killed by bandits, and his superiors were furious: to send an army to catch the real culprit

On March 7, 1950, this band of bandits attacked the chonggang district government of Pingluo County, and they ransacked the tax office. In addition, Guo Shuozi also led a team to attack the Dawukou Guanghua Porcelain Factory, brutally killing three people, including the director and director of the factory, and stealing more than 200,000 yuan and more than 200,000 stones of rice and other materials. On March 14, the two or two classes of the 582nd Regiment of our bandit squad were ambushed, and on March 23, more than 20 staff members of the teaching team of the 194th Division of our army were attacked.

Bad news came frequently, and the central troops paid more and more attention to Guo Zhaozi's forces, and in order to protect the safety of the people, Cao Dongzhi repeatedly led troops to Helan Mountain to encircle and suppress bandits.

How can the rabble really have the capital to go to war with our army head-on? Under the instructions of General Cao Dongzhi, Guo's bandits were defeated, but unfortunately, this evildoer eventually escaped with the help of the Mountain Road Emperor.

The hatred between General Cao Dongzhi and Guo Shuzi was thus concluded, and in extreme anger, Guo Shuzi threatened to take revenge on Cao Dongzhi.

After waiting patiently, Guo Shuozi really waited for the opportunity to take revenge -- from a traitor, Guo Shuozi learned that General Cao Dongzhi would go to Yinchuan in July of that year to attend the first representative meeting of the Ningxia Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, and after distinguishing the authenticity of the news, Guo Shuozi set up an ambush on the road that the general had to pass on his way back.

On July 30, the congress officially ended, and seeing that it was late outside, Pan Zili advised Cao Dongzhi to stay in Yinchuan for a few days and not to rush back.

However, Cao Dongzhi, who was worried about the people, rejected his kindness, and that night, he returned from Yinchuan to Alxa Zuoqi with two guards.

In the early morning of July 31, when Cao Dongzhi and the others marched near the ambush site, the bandits who had been waiting for a long time immediately sneaked out and attacked Cao Dongzhi and the others.

In 1950, General Cao Dongzhi was killed by bandits, and his superiors were furious: to send an army to catch the real culprit

When he saw many bandits dancing with their teeth and claws ready to besiege him, Cao Dongzhi already understood that he was less fierce, but there was no trace of timidity in his heart, the revolutionary generals were already ready to die, and at present, what he was most worried about was the confidential documents on his body.

With such an idea, Cao Dongzhi and the others hid the documents on their bodies for the first time, and after making sure that everything was correct, he immediately started a battle with the bandits.

In the fierce confrontation, a bullet was fired at Cao Dongzhi, and blood slowly flowed from his body, and this revolutionary fighter who planned to dedicate his life to the country closed his eyes forever at the age of 44.

After the news of such a bad thing spread, the superior leaders were furious, and even more generals roared:

"Check! Hurry up and check it out! Even if an army is dispatched, it must catch the real culprit! We absolutely cannot tolerate such evil elements that undermine social stability! ”

Although the truth of the murder was not immediately found out, according to the previous deeds, everyone still locked the suspicion on Guo Bolzi.

Under the instructions of their superiors, two comrades, Commander Shi Binglian and Director Liu Changzhi, worked tirelessly and led the soldiers of the two battalions day and night to search for the traces of bandits in the mountains.

Through interrogation, the people learned that the bandits would have a meeting near the Imperial City (a temple) on Xifeng Mountain, in which Guo Shuzi would also participate.

The cadres were thrilled to receive this unexpected information, and they realized that this was a good opportunity to eliminate the bandits. In this state of mind, Commander Shi Binglian and Director Liu Changzhi led the team to set out without fear of hardship and speed for more than 50 miles, and soon after, they finally arrived at the mouth of Daxi Peak and formed a siege against the enemy.

At dawn, our staff advanced into the place where the bandits were located, and after a fierce battle, the lawless elements in the small ravine were in disarray, hiding in Tibet, and completely losing their combat effectiveness.

In 1950, General Cao Dongzhi was killed by bandits, and his superiors were furious: to send an army to catch the real culprit

The sound of our army's guns resounded through the valley, and all the soldiers, with the belief of "catching Guo Bolt alive," bravely charged forward. Under the suppression of the crowd, many bandits surrendered their weapons.

Finally, according to the clues given by a bandit, our army successfully found Guo Shuozi, and soon after, the bandit leader could not escape and fell into the net.

In November 1950, after review by the people's government, Guo Shuzi, Zhang Xuxu, Zhang Hengyu and other bandits were executed at a certain execution site in Yinchuan City, and the rest of the bandits were also punished as they deserved.

At this point, the problem of banditry that had plagued the people of Ningxia for many years had finally been solved, the risk of the local general being killed had been reduced again, and General Cao Dongzhi's spirit in heaven could finally rest in peace.
