"Born as a people's cadre, died as a revolutionary hero, did not dishonor the enemy in the face of the great festival, and will always remember the hearts of the people." This was written by General Chen Yi after he learned of Comrade Zhao Yiman's heroic sacrifice. Decades have passed, and her heroic deeds, along with this sentence, have been deeply engraved in the hearts of future generations.
In that year, Zhao Yiman was unfortunately wounded by the retreat of the cover troops, and was subsequently captured by the Japanese army. In the face of the enemy's inducement, she raised an eyebrow coldly, had a tough attitude, and did not confide a word. Who knew that the enemy was so angry that he tortured her, and the strong Zhao Yiman still vowed to die, and then was sentenced to death and heroically sacrificed.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, a Japanese officer named Taiji Ono confessed to the whole process of torturing Comrade Zhao Yiman during his trial. He once recalled: "This female Communist fighter was strong by nature, no matter what punishment she endured, she was tight-lipped, and her screams made me unforgettable!" ”

Influenced by relatives, participate in the revolution
Zhao Yiman was born in 1905 to a landlord family in Yibin County, Sichuan. Although she was a landlord, her parents were good people, never harming the poor people, and always spending money to help them. When he was young, the most profound thing Zhao Yiman remembered was to follow his father to the countryside for free clinics.
Every time he saw that the people were grateful to his father, Zhao Yiman would feel emotional, and when he grew up, he would also do more good deeds like his father and be generous to those who were in danger. To some extent, his father was Zhao Yiman's enlightenment teacher who participated in the revolution.
Later, the appearance of a person officially led her to the road of revolution, he was Zhao Yiman's eldest brother-in-law Zheng Youzhi.
Zhao Yiman came home from school and happened to meet her eldest sister and husband coming home to visit her family. During her conversation with her brother-in-law, she learned about a new organization that embraced Marxism-Leninism, the Chinese Communist Party.
As a member of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, Zheng Youzhi knows very well that if the revolutionary work is to be carried out smoothly, mobilizing the masses is the most important task. In his opinion, although his wife and sister are young, they have a strong spirit of resistance and are a good seedling to do revolution.
Later, on the recommendation of his brother-in-law, Zhao Yiman joined the Sichuan Communist Youth League. In 1926, Zhao Yiman, who had excellent grades, was successfully admitted to Yibin Girls' High School. While focusing on her studies, she also served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Student Union and the chairman of the Standing Committee of the Yibin County Women's Federation.
Holding several positions, Zhao Yiman lives in endless busyness every day. Every time he felt tired, Zhao Yiman would always think of his deceased father. At that time, when my father went to the countryside for free clinics, no matter how bumpy the road in the countryside was and how many people saw the doctor, he had no complaints and always tried his best to help everyone.
As a daughter of a father, how can she complain? With such an idea, Zhao Yiman's work momentum was even stronger. Later, because of his outstanding work ability, Zhao Yiman was approved to join the party and officially became a glorious communist party member.
"Abandoning the family and abandoning the son" and going to the northeast
After joining the party, Zhao Yiman's excellent performance made the organization more certain, which is a good seedling worth cultivating. Therefore, under the arrangement of the Party Central Committee, Zhao Yiman successively studied at the Wuhan Branch of the Central Military and Political College and the Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow.
While studying in the Soviet Union, she met Chen Dabang, a student at the Whampoa Military Academy. Because of the common pursuit of ideals, the young man and woman quickly came together. In 1928, the two held a wedding and officially married.
After completing his studies, Zhao Yiman said goodbye to her husband and returned to China with her newborn son. Soon after returning to China, she received orders from her superiors to immediately go to the northeast to lead the workers' struggle. Looking at the swaddled child waiting to be fed, Zhao Yiman's heart was full of reluctance.
The child is still so young, he is leaving. What mother would be willing to leave her own flesh and blood? However, an organization order is not incumbent. In the face of small families and big countries, Zhao Yiman resolutely chose the latter.
Therefore, after Zhao Yiman came to Shanghai and entrusted the child to her husband's eldest brother Chen Yueyun, he did not make any stops and stepped on the train to Shenyang.
It wasn't until he stood on the land of Shenyang that Zhao Yiman truly realized how arduous the task was. The "9.18" incident had just broken out, and the Japanese army had invaded Shenyang on a large scale, and it could be said that it was even more difficult to carry out revolutionary work here!
Even so, she still firmly believed that as a communist party member, she should dare to break through and fight, and not be afraid of any difficulties. Later, under her leadership, the employees of the Harbin Tram Company successfully launched an anti-Japanese strike, which to a certain extent thwarted the Japanese army's covetousness for Chinese enterprises.
Memories of the Japanese Army: Unforgettable
In addition to organizing the workers' movement, Zhao Yiman also actively mobilized the masses and formed a peasant guerrilla group, which won valuable victories in the battle against the Japanese army. Therefore, Zhao Yiman was also affectionately known as "Sister Li" by the locals, which shows how great a contribution she has made to the revolutionary cause in the northeast region!
However, Zhao Yiman's heroic deeds attracted the attention of the Japanese army. During a battle, in order to cover the retreat of his comrades-in-arms, Zhao Yiman was seriously wounded and unfortunately captured. In order to obtain confidential information from her mouth, the Japanese army used various methods to coerce and induce.
However, in the face of the enemy's "sugar-coated shells", Zhao Yiman did not give in. The enemy was so angry that they began to torture her into submission. After enduring punishments such as tiger stools, pepper water, and electrocution, Zhao Yiman remained unyielding.
Every time she woke up from her coma, she said something like this: "My purpose, my doctrine, my belief, is to oppose Manchu resistance!" Hearing such sonorous and powerful words, even the enemy was stunned.
After clearly learning that Zhao Yiman would not give information, the Japanese army made a cruel decision: to execute Zhao Yiman. In 1936, under the escort of the enemy, she came to Zhuhe County with serious injuries and was shot to show the public, and Comrade Zhao Yiman, who was only 31 years old, died heroically!
In 1956, when Japanese war criminal Taiharu Ono was interrogated, he confessed to all his crimes of aggression against China. In the defendant's seat, he personally told the whole process of interrogating Zhao Yiman.
At that time, after hearing that the communist Zhao Yiman had been arrested, Taiji Ohno hurried to the Japanese prison and personally interrogated him. He also remembered that Zhao Yiman was wearing a black cotton coat at that time, and although his legs were seriously injured, he did not show weakness at all, but looked at him with firm eyes.
He said, "During the interrogation, her legs were bleeding profusely and her entire trouser tube was filled. In order to get her to tell her the line of Communist activities, I beat her with a whip, but she still preferred to die. ”
Hearing his confession, the people in the courtroom all cried, and the great Comrade Zhao Yiman, even after enduring such suffering, did not betray the organization.
Later, Taiji Ohno returned to China after completing his sentence. Perhaps condemned by conscience. After returning to Japan, he began to actively devote himself to the cause of Sino-Japanese friendship, running on the streets every day to promote the concept of peace.
In his later years, he often recalled the tragic death of martyr Zhao Yiman, who said several times, "Her screams are really unforgettable for me!"
