Recently, Jim Ryan, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), announced at CES 2022 that a total of 17 PlayStation Studios studios are currently developing first-party games for the PS5.
Interestingly, among the 17 studios that have announced their commitment to first-party game development, Nixxes Software Studios, which focuses on PC porting, is also one of them (the studio has previously been acquired by PlayStation). Jim Ryan said Nixxes will focus on porting PlayStation's IP to the PC platform. But whether the studio will make their original games or assist Sony in porting future games to PC is still unknown.
Jim Ryan has previously said that counting the first-party games and exclusive games being developed by the cooperative studios, there are currently more than 25 exclusive PS5 games under PlayStation Studios, and more than half of them are brand new IP.
