The first local standard in the field of museums in Zhejiang Province, the "Museum Education Service Specification", was officially released. Education is an important function of the museum, and it has a unique advantage to make full use of the museum's resources to carry out various types of education for the society. At the same time, only by making the museum's educational services more standardized can we better play the educational function of the museum. Therefore, it is crucial to introduce a standard "Code of Educational Services for Museums".
Zhejiang Province is rich in museums, and the total number of museums ranks among the top in the country. In recent years, by promoting the organic combination of museum resources with primary and secondary school classroom teaching and comprehensive practical activities, a long-term mechanism for primary and secondary school students to use the museum to learn has been established. Museums at all levels in the province have carried out educational activities in various forms and types according to local conditions and characteristics. For example, the Zhejiang Museum of Natural History plans and carries out more than 100 "second classroom" activities suitable for young students in eight categories, such as festival activities, popular science lectures, theme activities, parent-child education, etc.; Zhoushan Museum opens "Happy Boat Expo" activities to stimulate students' interest in actively visiting and learning; Hangzhou West Lake Museum's "I am a small curator" activity, so that students can think about the functional positioning of the museum from the perspective of managers, and cultivate students' ability to think independently.
At the same time, under the new form of "integration of culture and tourism", the museum, as an important position for study tours, has planned and launched a number of research projects that are popular with primary and secondary school students. For example, the Anji Museum of Zhejiang Natural History Museum launched the "Museum Wonderful Night Nature Exploration Parent-Child Journey" nature exploration research course project, which inspires children's interest and desire to explore nature through museum research, and helps them grow up healthily and happily, and has been awarded the "First China Top Ten Science Popularization Research Brand Project".
The "Museum Education Service Specification" is organized and formulated by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province, with reasonable structure and extensive content, including the basic requirements of museum education services, service requirements, project service processes, education commissioners, evaluation and improvement, etc. The standard was issued by the Zhejiang Provincial Market Supervision and Administration Bureau and is scheduled to be officially implemented from January 11, 2022. The release and implementation of this standard will certainly help the province's museum education service to a higher level, and contribute to the construction of cultural self-confidence and cultural power, and contribute to the strength of Zhejiang's cultural and expo industry.
