It's finally here! Lucid is pushing ADAS functionality to select vehicles through OTAs

Recently, Peter Rawlinson, CEO of Lucid Group, an American new energy vehicle manufacturer, has sent an email to Lucid Air Dream Edition owners, in which he claims that their cars will begin to update the previously missing ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) function through OTA this month.

Previously, early Lucid Air Dream Edition customers found that their electric luxury sedans were delivered without the promised driver assistance features. The company's DreamDrive and DreamDrive Pro claim to be the most advanced ADAS in the world. The Pro edition is a more comprehensive package, standard on the Dream Edition and Grand Touring models.

Rawlinson said he's received many questions about DreamDrive and when other features that haven't been unlocked will be available. Rawlinson said many features are in the final stages of testing, and some features are scheduled for push activation in the January OTA update. These include adaptive cruise with speed limit assist, automatic emergency braking, lane departure protection, traffic sign recognition and more. However, the Highway Assist function that many people expect is not on the list of this push. According to previous introductions, the feature combines adaptive cruise and lane center control to help the vehicle remain in the right position on the highway while maintaining a safe distance from the vehicle in front of it and other lanes.
