On January 5, Henan added 64 new locally confirmed cases of COVID-19, surpassing 63 in Shaanxi and becoming the new epicenter of the epidemic in China.

Unlike the epidemic in Shaanxi, which is mainly concentrated in Xi'an, in the 6 days since the outbreak occurred, there have been 6 cases of infection in 6 cities in Henan, with a total of 75 confirmed local cases and 21 cases of asymptomatic infection reported. The outbreak is multi-point sporadic.

Of the 64 new confirmed cases in Henan, 50 are in Xuchang. Since January 6, five areas of Yuzhou City, a county-level city under xuchang's administration, have been elevated to high-risk areas. At present, the number of high-risk areas in Henan Province has increased to 7, all in Xuchang Yuzhou.

After the outbreak of the epidemic, many places in Henan quickly carried out the work of tracing the source of circulation, and some transmission chains appeared "cross-city transmission". However, the source of the current round of local epidemics in Henan and the spread between regions are still unclear.

The new reporting sites in Henan on January 5 are Xinyang City (2 cases) and Shangqiu City (1 case).

According to the disclosed activity trajectory, infected people in both cities can be regarded as a continuation of the "Zhengzhou transmission chain".

Among them, the newly confirmed patient in Suiyang District of Shangqiu City had close contact with a person with a positive initial screening in Erqi District of Zhengzhou City. The infected people in Gushi County, Xinyang City, returned from the Erqi District of Zhengzhou City on January 3.

On January 5, Zhengzhou said that the strain of the current round of the epidemic has been confirmed and is the new crown virus Delta. Judging from the existing circulation surveys, the spread of the epidemic in Zhengzhou shows the characteristics of multi-point sporadic and cluster transmission. There are three main clear communication chains, involving the gathering of card friends, funerals and families.

However, the source of the current round of epidemics in Zhengzhou is not yet known. The two infected cases initially reported did not intersect trajectories. They are not related to Luoyang, Xuchang, and others in Henan Province, which were the first to report cases.

Luoyang and Xuchang are also still being traced back.

As of 24:00 on the 5th, as the starting place of the current round of epidemic in Henan, Luoyang has reported a total of 10 infected people. The Beijing News reviewed the trajectory of the activities and found that two infected people stopped at the Lingbao service area of the Lianhuo Expressway at about 1:00 a.m. on December 19, 2021. Before that, 4 Xi'an returnees from Shenqiu County, Zhoukou City, stayed in this service area for 10 minutes.

The four were found to be positive for nucleic acid on December 22, 2021. Luoyang did not confirm whether the aforementioned cases were relevant.

Since then, no new infections have been reported in Zhoukou City until January 4, 2022, when 1 confirmed case and 1 asymptomatic infected person were found in Taikang County. Leng Bing, director of the Zhoukou Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the current round of Zhoukou epidemic is an "imported infection" in Xuchangyu Prefecture. Both cases are related to Xuchang Yuzhou, who went to a ceramic factory in Yuzhou, where confirmed cases were reported, to pick up goods.

"The relevant cases were shorter in Zhoukou Taikang, and the trajectory of activity was clear. We are determined to completely control the epidemic by January 10 and gradually restore normal social production, life and teaching order. Leng Bing said.

As the area with the largest number of reported cases in this round of henan epidemic, according to the "Xuchang release" news, on the evening of the 4th, Shi Genzhi, secretary of the Xuchang Municipal Party Committee, presided over the city's epidemic prevention and control scheduling meeting, saying that the epidemic prevention and control situation is extremely severe, and we have no way back. The next day, he spoke again, saying that the epidemic situation in Xuchang Yuzhou has not yet fully clarified the source and clarified the bottom line.

Checkpoints have been set up in many places to advocate "not leaving the market unless necessary"

Many places in Henan that reported the epidemic have adopted strict prevention and control measures.

Since the 2nd, Yuzhou City has implemented a global closed management, and all personnel can only enter and leave. The next day, the local government required all residents to stay at home and stay at home, and all motor vehicles in the city were not allowed to drive on the road. At the same time, Xuchang has also upgraded prevention and control measures, proposing that "non-essential do not leave Xuchang City".

On the 6th and 7th, Xuchang will carry out large-scale nucleic acid testing throughout the city. At 7:55 a.m. on the morning of the 6th, 10 people from the nucleic acid testing team of the Department of Laboratory Of Wuhan University People's Hospital (Hubei Provincial People's Hospital) rushed to the aid of Xuchang, Henan Province, and carried out nucleic acid testing.

Luoyang City temporarily closed all kinds of cultural and tourism venues from January 5, and launched the epidemic prevention and control transportation card point from 9 o'clock on the same day. Personnel entering Luoluo within Henan Province must provide a negative nucleic acid test certificate within 24 hours, and those entering Luoluo outside the province must provide a certificate within 48 hours.

On the basis of nucleic acid testing of key populations in key areas, Zhengzhou City launched nucleic acid testing for all employees in the city on the 5th. Those who refuse to be tested, the health code is "yellowed" and bears legal responsibility.

Xinyang City issued a notice on epidemic prevention and control on January 5, saying that the whole region can only enter and leave, suspend offline teaching in primary and secondary schools, and suspend the operation of buses, taxis, and online ride-hailing cars in the county.

Zhengzhou City, Xuchang City and Shangqiu City have postponed the interview for the teacher qualification examination. The validity period of the results of the written test subjects that the affected candidates have passed has been extended for half a year.

Nanyang, Henan, which has not reported cases, has also tightened epidemic prevention measures, issuing a new policy on entering Wanwan and saying that it is indeed necessary to hold a 48-hour nucleic acid negative certificate outside the province. Those who are not residents in the city should try to persuade them to return.

In addition, since January 5, Hebi City, Jiyuan Demonstration Zone and Xinmi City have set up epidemic prevention and control checkpoints at important transportation hubs to inspect vehicles and personnel, advocating that "all citizens should not leave the city unless necessary".

The Department of Culture and Tourism of Henan Province has issued relevant notices to immediately suspend travel agencies and online tourism enterprises in Henan Province to operate inter-provincial group tours and "air ticket + hotel" business.

Can Henan people still go home for the New Year?

According to the circulation survey, there was no history of travel outside Jinhua City in the 14 days before the onset of the disease, and on January 1, he had a spatio-temporal and spatial intersection with two confirmed cases from other provinces at the Lingxia Zhu Gas Station in Jinyi New District.
