At the end of 1946, when the four columns entered Lüliang in the west, Chu Daming had not yet recovered, so he left the hospital and chased until he was at the fenhe river to catch up with the troops. In the counterattack, he led the 29th Regiment to the front and directly attacked the headquarters of the enemy group army on the fifth floor. After only one round of fighting, he rushed into the enemy headquarters and dragged Yang Lunyuan, the aide-de-camp of the enemy commander Sun Chu, out from under the bed.
He then ordered Yang Lunyuan to lead the way and break into the headquarters of the enemy's 69th Division. Wang Ximing, the commander of the enemy division, was burying his head in the phone and shouting: "Resist, resist me!"

In January 1947, the Fourth Column and Wang Zhen's forces launched the Fenxiao Campaign. On February 3, the four columns returned to the Taiyue base area. Officers and men strongly demanded that Chu Daming be carried back to the base area. On the 300-mile snowstorm march, brigade, regimental commanders, and battalion company cadres scrambled to carry coffin coffins.
On February 14, the clouds were thick, and Chu Daming's memorial service was held in Wang Chang Village, where the 29th Regiment was stationed. The lawn fluttered, a patch of muslin.
