In the face of such a grim situation, the enemy is strong and we are weak, and we cannot fight hard, so the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army ordered all units to avoid their sharp edges and move quickly. Although they are all moving, some troops are relatively lucky, and some troops have encountered tremendous difficulties. In May, the organs of the first sub-district of the Ji'nan Military Region suffered a fatal blow. On May 26, more than 500 people of the first sub-district, under the protection of the second battalion of the 20th Regiment, were moving, and they collided head-on with a large number of Japanese troops.
At that time, Comrade Xu Shaoen, commander of the 20th Regiment, Comrade Li Hanying, political commissar, Comrade Chu Daming, deputy regimental commander, and Comrade He Ming, chief of staff, all acted with the organs. The situation was critical, and after a brief discussion among the four men, it was decided that Chu Daming, deputy regimental commander, would take a company, pretend to be the main force, break the gap with fierce firepower, and rush out, so as to attract the main force of the Japanese army to change the direction of attack and cover the retreat of the personnel of the organs. The deputy commander of chu daming, that is, the famous tiger general, after accepting the order, took two companies, concentrated firepower, and after paying a certain sacrifice, successfully broke out of the encirclement.
However, they rushed out, but the Japanese army did not take the lead, did not chase them at all, but continued to attack around the organs of the first division. This was miserable, and the deputy commander of Chu Daming's regiment could not fight back with people, for two reasons, one was that there were few people, and the other was that when he just broke through, he basically ran out of ammunition, and he could not organize strong firepower at all. In the end, Comrade Xu Shaoen, the commander of the 20th Regiment, Comrade Li Hanying, the political commissar, and Comrade He Ming, the chief of staff, all died heroically after three days and three nights of fierce fighting with the Japanese army.
In this battle, in addition to more than 100 people brought out by the deputy commander of Chu Daming, more than 450 other people, including Xu Shaoen, political commissar Li Hanying, and chief of staff He Ming, all died heroically.
