As we all know, ancient warfare has two major elements, one is the army, the other is the weapon, the combat strength of the Qin army needless to say, they have been fighting in a difficult environment for many years, whether it is physical strength or endurance, they are much stronger than ordinary soldiers. However, in the process of unifying the six kingdoms of the Qin State, the victory of weapons is also an important factor that cannot be ignored. In the terracotta pit discovered in March 1974, about 40,000 bronze weapons were unearthed, and only 4 iron weapons were excavated, namely iron spears, iron hammers and 2 iron collars and copper hammers.
In the late Warring States period, although iron tools have been widely used in agricultural production, due to the high requirements of weapons for iron, at that time, the smelting level could not meet the use of combat, so iron weapons were not promoted. However, the Qin state has put a lot of effort into bronze weapons, and the Qin craftsmen have not only improved the alloy ratio, but also applied it to various weapons, including but not limited to ge, spear, halberd, sword, crossbow, etc., which greatly enhanced the combat effectiveness of the Qin army.

According to the Eighteen Laws of Qin, "For those who are the same thing, their size, shortness, length, and breadth must be equal." It can be seen that the Qin state has also reached a very high standard in the accuracy of weapon manufacturing.
Most importantly, archaeologists have carefully studied the 19 Qin swords unearthed in pit No. 2, and after analysis and testing, they learned that there is a layer of chromium salt oxide of about 10 μm on the surface of the Qin sword, which is the secret that the Qin sword has not decayed for more than 2,000 years. However, this technology was not studied by the Germans until the 20th century, and the mystery of how the Qin people mastered "modern technology" has not been solved to this day.
In order to unify the weapons standards, the Qin State also engraved the names of manufacturing managers and craftsmen on each weapon, and finally accepted it well, once unqualified, it would be severely punished, or even sitting continuously. Regarding the advanced technology of the Qin State, volume 41 of the Collected Remains once recorded: "There are people of Wanqu who come by spiral boat." The boat is shaped like a snail, sinking to the bottom of the sea, and the water is not immersed, a 'on the wave boat'. Its people are ten feet long, and the hair of birds and beasts is woven to cover the shape. When the First Emperor spoke with him and the heavens and the earth were opened, it was like seeing it with his own eyes."
