So is the real Ouchi Guard in history really exactly the same as in the TV series, and who plays this important role? Unlike eunuchs, the Great Inner Guard was generally served by the sons of nobles with high status, and their power was very large, and many people were rewarded with yellow coats and flower feathers, and there were many rewards.
In the late Qing Dynasty, there was a famous Great Inner Guard, named Fucha Abalihan, and he also wrote a special book "Memoirs of the Late Qing Guards" to review the difficult process and strict requirements of being a guard. In addition, there was the prominent official He Yan during the Qianlong period, who was also a great internal guard, which is why he and Qianlong had such a good relationship.
In the late Qing Dynasty, there were also photos of three large internal guards exposed, and their eyes could be seen in these photos. And the real guards in history do not blindly talk about love like in the TV series, each of them is excellent in martial arts, holding a variety of weapons in their hands.
The last head of the Great Inner Guard of the Late Qing Dynasty was called Gong Baotian, who entered the palace in 1897 as the mind of Cixi and Guangxu, and was also rewarded with a yellow coat for his escort. According to legend, the prototype of Gong Er's father in the movie port "Generation Grandmaster" is a mixture of Gong Baotian and Li Cunyi. In 1922, Gong Baotian went to Zhang Zuolin's banner and became a martial arts instructor in the army and Zhang Zuolin's bodyguard.
At that time, Zhang Zuolin saw that Gong Baotian's figure was short and his appearance was not proud, and he thought that his martial arts were not good. And Gong Baotian did not want to be underestimated, and asked Zhang Zuolin to shoot at him twenty steps away, but he did not expect that Gong Baotian dodged every shot. And he did bring good luck to Zhang Zuolin, allowing him to overcome danger many times. In 1943, Gong Baotian passed away, and before that, he had already accepted Wang Zhuangfei, Xu Shiyou and many other disciples.
There was a man named Zhang Shujin, who was also a famous Great Inner Guard, who was a martial artist in 1865, who could directly lift more than three hundred pounds of stones, and was personally awarded the title of First Class Bodyguard by the Tongzhi Emperor. Later, Zhang Shujin became Cixi's personal bodyguard, and in 1900 he escorted Cixi back to the palace, known as General Jianwei.

Their eyes were shining brightly, and their bodies stood very straight, which could see the normality of the Qing Dynasty's great internal guards.
Although these guards can't take people to the sky casually like in the costume TV series, they have also started practicing since they were young, and the kung fu is still very solid, and they can indeed reach the point of being one to ten. And their eyes are not soft, mainly to deter each other.
Before Tongzhi, many people would be promoted through the Great Inner Guard, but after that, the promotion was not so easy, and some poor children who had learned martial arts since childhood also had the opportunity to enter the palace as guards.
