Recently, we learned from Honda China that Dongfeng Honda and Wuhan Economic Development Zone signed an investment agreement for the new electric vehicle plant project, and Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., Ltd. will build a new factory specializing in the production of electric vehicles.
Dongfeng Honda's new plant, located in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone, covers an area of 630,000 square meters and is scheduled to start production in 2024 with a base annual production capacity of 120,000 units at an early stage. The new factory plans to build an efficient, intelligent and sustainable development of a new generation of electric vehicle factories, with stamping, welding, painting, assembly, vehicle testing and other complete processes of electric vehicle production, and will introduce new automation technologies in welding, assembly and other processes, with industry-leading automation level.
The new plant will also make full use of renewable energy sources such as solar power generation to strive for future carbon neutrality. In addition, measures such as water recycling will be used to conserve resources, and the emission of atmospheric pollutants such as VOCs will be minimized and sustainable development will be actively promoted.
