According to Nokia's official website, the company has expanded its partnership with telecom group Tele2. Tele2 has selected Nokia to deploy 5G RAN in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The deal will continue to build on Nokia's 25-year close collaboration with Tele2 in the Baltic Region. Nokia's 5G solution will enable Tele2 to provide customers with network connectivity and capacity advantages with ultra-low latency, while reducing complexity. Nokia is the current and sole supplier in the deal.

Nokia will modernize Tele2's nationwide wireless network. Once Tele2 obtains enough low- and high-band spectrum in this year's spectrum auction, network deployment will begin. Tele2 has previously acquired 5G spectrum in the 3.5 GHz band and 700 MHz band in Latvia.
Since 1996, Nokia has been working with Tele2 on 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G network deployments in baltic states.
Petras Masiulis, CEO of Tele2 Baltic Region, commented: "We now have a strong and reliable partner that can help us with a full 5G deployment in the Baltic states, and by working with them, we will be able to provide major network upgrades for each country, providing our customers with better network speed, reliability and coverage. Nokia has been a key partner for previous generations of mobile technology, and we look forward to continuing this partnership as we deploy next-generation infrastructure in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania." ”
Tommy Uitto, President of Nokia's Mobile Networks Business, said: "We are delighted to extend our long-standing partnership with Tele2 in the Baltic States and are very proud to have been selected as a trusted 5G partner for this important deployment. Our best-in-class AirScale portfolio will provide the most cutting-edge network connectivity technology for customers across multiple markets, and I look forward to working closely with them on this project and beyond."
