Zhu Yuanzhang went to the Shaolin Temple and asked: Do you also want to kneel? The abbot said "8 words" and saved the whole temple

In Chinese history, there were two commoner emperors: Liu Bang, the ancestor of Han Gao, and Zhu Yuanzhang, the ancestor of the Ming Dynasty. Both of them were born into poor peasants, and later through unremitting efforts and hard work, they finally became the kings of a country.

Zhu Yuanzhang's original name was Zhu Zhongba, and his family was originally destitute, and with many brothers and sisters, food and clothing became the biggest problem. In order to make a living, he had to herd cattle for the landlord's family when he was a child.

Zhu Yuanzhang went to the Shaolin Temple and asked: Do you also want to kneel? The abbot said "8 words" and saved the whole temple

In 1343, the 15-year-old Zhu Yuanzhang suffered the first hurdle in his life: a plague occurred in his hometown, and his father, mother, and eldest brother all died in just half a month. At that time, Zhu Yuanzhang was poor and did not even have the money to buy coffins for his relatives, and he could not even find a piece of cemetery, and his neighbor Liu Jizu saw that Zhu Yuanzhang was pitiful, so he gave a piece of cemetery to Zhu Yuanzhang, and Zhu Yuanzhang hastily buried his family.

In order to make a living, Zhu Yuanzhang came to huangjue temple and wanted to become a monk. The abbot carefully looked at Zhu Yuanzhang's whole body, and then said a shocking sentence to Zhu Yuanzhang: "The benefactor has a strange appearance, and he must be a rich and noble person in the future, but you have a certain fate with the Buddha." So the abbot left Zhu Yuanzhang behind.

Because of natural and man-made disasters, 17-year-old Zhu Yuanzhang could not make a living as a monk at Huangjue Temple, so he had to leave the temple with his brothers and began to live a begging life.

Three years later, in 1348, Zhu Yuanzhang returned to Huangjue Temple. During these three years of wandering, Zhu Yuanzhang had a lofty ambition in his heart to save the people of the world from water and fire.

As a result, at this time, Tang He, a good friend of Zhu Yuanzhang's childhood, wrote an invitation letter to him, which changed Zhu Yuanzhang's life from then on.

In order to avoid being pursued and killed by the government, Zhu Yuanzhang defected to Guo Zixing's Red Turban Army.

After joining the rebel army, Zhu Yuanzhang started from the most basic level, but with his outstanding personal ability and super invincible courage, he won Guo Zixing's weight and promoted him to his own guard captain. Later, Guo Zixing married his adopted daughter Ma Shi to Zhu Yuanzhang.

Zhu Yuanzhang also lived up to expectations, and later succeeded Guo Zixing as the leader of the Red Turban Army, and later, defeated Chen Youyu and Zhang Shicheng, two fierce enemies, and then marched north to completely overthrow the Yuan Dynasty. Thus establishing the Ming Dynasty.

In the tenth year of Hongwu (1378 AD), Zhu Yuanzhang, perhaps because he was bored in the palace in Nanjing, suddenly took his entourage to the Songshan Shaolin Temple on a whim to pay homage.

The abbot of the Shaolin Temple heard that the emperor was coming, and naturally came down the mountain to greet him, "Your Majesty has come from afar, redeeming the old man to take over the car late" "No need to be polite, free of courtesy" Zhu Yuanzhang let the abbot lead the way to the Daxiong Treasure Hall. At this time, facing the Buddha statue, Zhu Yuanzhang burned incense, and was thinking of kneeling down to beg the Buddha to bless his jiangshan, so that the old Zhu family's jiangshan could be passed down for generations.

Zhu Yuanzhang went to the Shaolin Temple and asked: Do you also want to kneel? The abbot said "8 words" and saved the whole temple

However, at this moment, he suddenly thought that he was now the king of a country, the True Dragon Heavenly Son, and the True Dragon Heavenly Son had given the Buddha a kneeling body.

Zhu Yuanzhang hesitated for this reason, so he asked the abbot, "Does Zhu Yuan need to kneel?" ”

This is a very mischievous question. The abbot knew that if he did not answer well, not only would he not be able to escape the disaster himself, but he was afraid that the entire temple would suffer. Fortunately, the abbot was a man with a quick mind, he thought about it, and respectfully said 8 words: "See in the Buddha does not worship the past Buddha." ”

The "see" in this was also equivalent to the present "present" in ancient times. This means that Zhu Yuanzhang is now the emperor, the nine-five-year-old, and when he is a human Buddha, there is a reason for the present Buddha to bow down and worship the past Buddha. Zhu Yuanzhang did not want to kowtow, so he went down the slope of the donkey and did not kneel, and when he heard it, he was very happy, praised the abbot for his learning, was a high-ranking monk, and gave a heavy reward.

Zhu Yuanzhang went to the Shaolin Temple and asked: Do you also want to kneel? The abbot said "8 words" and saved the whole temple

Because of the abbot's resourceful response, he defused a disaster for the Shaolin Temple, which not only saved the lives of the monks of the whole temple, but also received a heavy reward. This story has thus become a good story

Of course, the male protagonist of the real "worship of Buddha" allusion is actually not Zhu Yuanzhang, but the Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin, which was recorded by the famous Song Dynasty scholar Ouyang Xiu in the "Guitian Record".

Taizu XingXiangguo Temple, burned incense in front of the Buddha statue and asked, "When to worship or not to worship?" Monk Lu Zanning said, "Don't worship." "Ask why. "Seeing in the Buddha does not worship the Past Buddha." ”

Zhao Kuangyin listened to the monk's answer and smiled with satisfaction. The emperor is in charge of the world, if he goes to worship a Buddha statue, what kind of body will he become? It is reported that later dynasties and dynasties have formed such a rule, 6 words: the emperor does not worship when he sees the Buddha.

If Zhao Kuangyin knew that hundreds of years later, this beggar monk emperor had actually taken back the rivers and mountains that his old Zhao family had lost from the hands of the Yuan people, he would rather have such a Zhang Guan Li Dai wear it a few times and be willing.
