CES 2022, the "Tech Year's Fair" and the world's largest consumer electronics show, will officially open on January 5, tomorrow, in Las Vegas, USA.
A wave of interesting products took turns on the stage, and the time has come for tech enthusiasts to feast their eyes.
For example, a flying car that could be used as an "air taxi" for Expo 2025:
Exoskeletons that reduce fatigue caused by prolonged standing:
A fashion smart ring that can detect life indicators such as heart rate:
……
Each of them has at least two companies "invariably" bringing products to the show, which may also reveal the technology trends of 2022.
Take a sneak peek.
Flying cars: can you play "flying" in 2025?
Currently, there are 150 manufacturers and start-ups around the world working on taxis, ambulances, buses... Developed a newly designed aerial environmental "hovering", that is, a flying car.
At cess, two companies will bring product prototypes of air cars.
One is SkyDrive from Tokyo, Japan, which will showcase its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) single-seater demonstrator (which has not yet achieved autonomous driving).
SkyDrive exposed a public manned test flight in August 2020: the car landed after hovering for 4 minutes at an altitude of 10 meters.
The company's goal is to use the flying car as an "air taxi" for Expo 2025 Osaka.
Another exhibiting company is France-based MACA, which will showcase its hydrogen-powered flying car, the Carcopter.
But rather than "flying" passengers, the Carcopter was designed for high-speed racing cars (up to 153 mph in the airspeed) with the goal of replacing old gasoline-powered F1 cars to reduce global emissions.
The prototype of the car was not shipped to Las Vegas this time, and will be presented to the audience using AR technology.
Carcopte plans to show off its truly flying prototype at the 2023 Paris Air Show.
Although the heat is quite high, as revealed by these two manufacturers, it is estimated that in the field of flying cars, it will be as soon as 2023 or 2024 before a few products can obtain FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) or EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) certification and land real products.
Exoskeleton: Relieves long-standing fatigue
At the end of the day, the last stop is to try out the exoskeleton products.
Archelis from Yokohama, Japan, is a non-powered exoskeleton aimed at surgeons, factory workers and other people who need to stand for a long time.
The device "supports the body in a standing position" to prevent long-standing "occupational diseases" such as waist pain and leg soreness, while also allowing the wearer to move around naturally.
Another is also from Japan, and robotics company Innophys plans to exhibit two products: Muscle Suit Every and Music Suit GS-Arm.
One of these two is used to support the body to protect the waist when bending down to lift weights, and the other is used as an arm support when it takes a long time to lift the arm.
Both use manually adding and releasing compressed air to accomplish accessibility.
Smaller wearables: smart rings
Wearables are likely to get smaller and smaller, like running from your wrist to your finger — in that case, smart rings.
Circular in Paris, France, will be showcasing a smart ring at CES 2022 that can detect vital signs (including blood oxygen levels) as well as daily activities.
The ring has a vibrating function and pushes messages to the phone when there is a problem with the wearer's heart rate and blood oxygen value.
Movano, based in California, USA, is targeting female users and will exhibit more stylish, smaller smart rings.
The ring can also collect data on heart rate, breathing, body temperature, blood oxygen saturation, calorie intake, etc., and will also add blood glucose and blood pressure monitoring functions in future versions.
At present, the pricing of these two exhibiting products has not yet been announced.
About CES 2022
CES 2022 was originally scheduled to open on 1.5-1.8 as the outbreak will end one day earlier.
The exhibition involves products including digital health, food technology, automotive technology, NFTs, games, smart homes and other major fields.
There will be 2,000+ exhibitors participating in the offline exhibition, but many important guests, such as Google, Microsoft, etc., a total of 130+ exhibitors will "switch" online due to the epidemic.
