During the Republic of China period, bandits ran rampant in the northeast, and the biggest victor here was Zhang Zuolin, which is something that everyone knows. Today, I will introduce you to the story of another bandit, the main deeds of this bandit occurred after the death of Zhang Zuolin, this person once pretended to be a traitor to the Japanese after the "918 Incident", but in fact took the opportunity to take down the Devil's Headquarters, he is Zhang Haitian, who is known as the "Old North Wind". Zhang Haitian, also known as Zhang Henian, was born in 1890 to a poor family in Gaolifang Village, Tai'an County, Liaoning Province, and joined the ranks of bandits in his youth, reporting the name "Old North Wind". After the "918 Incident," Zhang Haitian, who was originally a bandit, played the banner of "Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Army" and transformed himself from a gangster into an anti-Japanese guerrilla.
In the eyes of the Japanese, there was not much threat to the bandits in the northeast at that time, but it was not a matter of frequent harassment, so the Japanese thought of "ruling China with China" and established the "Northeast People's Self-Defense Army". At that time, the traitor Kawashima Yoshiko and others believed that the best way to recruit these bandits was the best way, and there was a need for a representative, and the traitor Ling Yinqing became the most famous bandit among the first bandits in the Japanese.
After the traitor Ling was surrendered by the Japanese, he immediately came to summon Zhang Haitian. Zhang Haitian knew that he could not fight the Japanese on his own, and he thought of twisting and turning to save the country, and finally he accepted the "surrender" and obtained a large number of weapons and ammunition provided by the Japanese. On November 3, 1931, Zhang Haitian set up a banquet to trap ling Qingyin and Japanese agent Canggang Fantaro and more than ten other people, and then executed and destroyed Ling Qingyin's Japanese puppet army headquarters, resolutely leading the anti-Japanese army.
After Zhang Haitian led his troops to resist the Japanese, bandits from all over the northeast came to their aid. In less than two months, the number of troops quickly expanded from 300 to more than 5,000, and Zhang Haitian's troops became the most important anti-Japanese force on both sides of the Liao River. On November 18, 1931, the Japanese army invaded western Liaoning, and when it reached Tianzhuangtai, it was attacked by the Northeast Army and Zhang Haitian, and suffered heavy losses. In September 1932, Zhang Haitian sent someone to Yingkou to kidnap two British people, which led to a strong protest from the British government to Japan, which forced the Japanese to send people to negotiate with him. During the negotiations, Zhang Haitian proposed 1,000 rifles, 150,000 rounds of ammunition, and 500 pistols in exchange, and the Japanese finally agreed to Zhang Haitian's request.
Zhang Haitian won many victories in the battle against the Japanese puppet army, when those small groups of Japanese puppet troops heard that the "old north wind" was coming, they were all terrified, and even traveled to the phenomenon that some Japanese puppet troops came with weapons and ammunition to surrender.
