In the Tang and Song dynasties, many outstanding poets emerged, who were brilliant on the one hand, and on the other hand, they were also charming. Many talented people like to associate with singers, and some poets have many prostitutes because of their wealth, which is both a symbol of status and a need to engage in literary activities.
Tang Dynasty songs mainly use the poet's works as lyrics, so the poet and the singer have an objective relationship. Poets' works need to rely on their singing to spread far and wide. Poets and singers live in the two links of creation and dissemination, and invisibly form an interdependent relationship.

In an era when there were no modern communication facilities and the printing industry was not yet emerging, the reason why Tang poetry could be popularized was the main way of dissemination. The Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi believed in Buddhism, thinking that Lotte knew his destiny, and his life seemed to be very indifferent, but there were many singers in his family.
In his "Wing Hing Xiao Ting Also Has a Moon", he mentions four singers, namely the diamond horn who holds the spring, the gu'er who smears the pipa, the red silk that dances by hand, and the purple silk who sings casually. In addition, everyone is also familiar with cherry Fan Sukou and willow small wild waist. The following is Bai Juyi's evaluation of the singer, lyrically writing a poem, the other party echoed a song, but it made people sigh.
For this reason, Zhang Servant shot all the prostitutes
Tang Dynasty: Bai Juyi
Gold does not hesitate to buy moth eyebrows, and picks three or four branches like flowers.
The song and dance teachings are exhausted, and they do not follow each other.
Socializing with Gao Shi and making friends with singers was the common mentality of many princes and ministers and literati inkers in the Tang Dynasty. Whoever is friendly with a famous prostitute, whose singer is young and beautiful, will have face and brilliance.
In the Middle Tang Dynasty, there was a singer named Guan Panpan, because she was shy of the moon and could sing and dance, and she was deeply loved by Shangshu Zhang Jianfeng. When Bai Juyi traveled to Huaisi, Zhang Jianfeng had ordered Yu Pan to accompany the wine, and Bai Juyi personally wrote poems to give to him.
Later, the poet accidentally read Pan Pan's three poems "Swallow Building" and learned that Zhang Jianfeng had long since passed away. And this singer lived in the Swallow Building of The Zhang clan in Xuzhou, because she missed her old love and did not marry, and lived alone upstairs for more than ten years.
Bai Ju was fond of the past and fondly recalled his friendship with Zhang Shangshu, so he created this poem. The first two sentences express that Zhang Shangshu is very fond of this talented and beautiful woman, and praises this singer with "moth eyebrows, like flowers". The word "not hesitate" also bluntly expresses the poet's friend's deep affection for Hope.
The last two sentences are worth perusing, and the poet laments that Zhang Shangshu taught them to sing and dance at any cost, but after his death, no one "followed" him. The author wanted to warn future generations not to indulge in enjoyment.
But when the poem reached Panpan, she read it over and over again, but she read it with a different meaning. "Once you go without going along", this sentence stimulated her too much, and she cried and said to people: Since Zhang Gong's death, concubines are not unable to die, but they are afraid that after a hundred years, people will think that Zhang Gong is heavy and has concubines from death, which will tarnish his reputation, so he will secretly live. Pan Pan then and a poem:
Self-guarding empty buildings hate eyebrows, resembling peony branches after spring.
The people of the house will not be deeply meaningd, and they will not follow the spring platform.
Pan Pan was sullen and unhappy, and died of hunger strike for more than ten days. Later generations mostly believe that Bai Juyi killed Pan Pan, in fact, Bai Juyi only said that Zhang Jianfeng had been dead for many years, and how Pan Pan was not as dead as ashes, with sympathetic implications.
Bai Juyi sighed that Zhang Jianfeng was a prostitute, meaning to punish, not necessarily to look forward to martyrdom, but it led to such a tragedy. Unfortunately, Pan Pan is extremely serious, the poet did not expect it, and the reader sighed even more.
The Northern Song Dynasty poet Su Shi served as a taishou in Xuzhou, and also personally visited the Yanzi Building, and also wrote poems to mourn this singer. Although Guan Panpan has long since died, the poet seems to have met her in a dream, and has since befriended a beautiful woman named Ma Panpan. Unfortunately, Su Shi was transferred to Huzhou later, and she eventually died of excessive sorrow, adding a sad story to the poetry world.
