The founding emperor of the new dynasty, Jianxing Emperor Mang

The new dynasty existed from January 15, 9 AD to October 6, 23 AD, the new dynasty was overthrown by the Green Forest Army, a total of fifteen years of guozuo, only 1 emperor, namely: Wang Mang. The new dynasty set a precedent in Chinese history for the success of the zen emperor.

Jianxing Emperor Mang, good at drilling camps, gradually controlled the government, in 9 AD, Wang Mang established himself as emperor, the national name "New", the history called "New Dynasty", the year name is "the founding of the country". In 14 AD, it was changed to "Tianfeng", and in 20 AD, it was changed to "Emperor of the Earth". Wang Mang, the second son of the new King Wang Man, reigned for fifteen years and died at the age of seventy-eight.

Wang Mang recited the "Zhou Li" since childhood, superstitiously believed in the ancient system, so he attached the "Zhou Li" and reformed the system, but unfortunately it backfired, and the new policy was too hasty, so that it created great social and economic chaos.

On October 6, 23 AD, the Gengshi army invaded Chang'an, and Wang Mang was killed by the merchant Du Wu in the confusion at Weiyang Palace, thus ending the rule of the Xinmang regime.

In order to escape the killing, Wang Mangzu changed his surname several times, but he also claimed the title of emperor several times. From the beginning of the king, it has become a family name of the future king. This branch of the Wang clan, from the Yao surname or concubine surname, after The Qi Wang Tian Jian (妫氏), a descendant of Emperor Shun (姚重華), belonged to the royal family. Emperor Shun was originally surnamed Yao, and was given the surname of Concubine because of his residence. Emperor Shun's descendants stayed by the River Youhe, that is, they took Concubine as their surname. The earliest source of this Wang surname is the Yao surname, and some of the Yao surnames have changed their surnames many times, from the Yao surname to the concubine surname, then to the Chen surname, and then to the Tian clan, some of the Tian clan changed back to the earliest Yao surname, some did not change back, they continued to be the Tian clan, and the Tian clan changed their surname again, changed to the Wang surname. Empress Dowager Shun's Concubine Hu (舜後) was given the title of Chen(妫), and was also known as Tian Shi (田氏). His ancestor Qi Zhutian was destroyed by Qin, and the Qi people were called the Wang family, and Tian Sheng, the son of Tian Jian, the king of Qi, and Tian Huan changed his surname to Wang.

In 368 BC, Tian He replaced jiang as the monarch of the State of Qi, known in history as "Tian Shi Dai Qi", passed on the eight kings, and was destroyed by Qin. After the fall of the state, the late Emperor Tian Jianju of Qi (present-day Hui County, Henan) had three sons: Tian Sheng, Tian Huan, and Tian Zhen, of which the descendants of Tian Sheng and Tian Huan changed their surnames to Wang, which was a major source of Wang's surname. The Wang Zhengjun of the Two Han Dynasties, the Wang clan of Yuancheng where Wang Mang was located, and the Beihai Wang clan and the Chen Liu Wang clan of the Wei, Jin, Sui, and Tang dynasties all came from this wang surname. Tian Jian's grandson and Tian Sheng's son, Tian An, was created the King of Jibei when Xiang Yu rebelled against Qin and established Western Chu, and Xiang Yu was defeated by Liu Bang, and Tian An also lost the throne. But in order to commemorate this event, his descendants have changed their surname to Wang from then on. In addition, the descendants of Tian Jian's second son Tian Huan also changed their surname to Wang.
