After the establishment of the New Fourth Army, Ye Ting's wife bought more than 3,000 guns and personally escorted them to the military headquarters

On April 8, 1946, General Ye Ting flew back to Yan'an with Wang Ruofei, Bogu, Deng Fa and others, but unfortunately, the plane crashed and all the people on board were killed.

In addition to these big figures, Ye Ting's wife Li Xiuwen was also on the plane at that time, and was killed with Ye Ting.

Looking back at Li Xiuwen's life, in fact, it is a life of displacement with General Ye Ting, the two suffer and share hardships, life and death are dependent on each other, which can be called a model of a model couple.

Li Xiuwen was born in 1907 in Macao to a wealthy family, in 1925, when he was only 18 years old, Li Xiuwen married Ye Ting, and has never abandoned it since then.

In January 1938, Ye Ting became the commander of the New Fourth Army. The newly established New Fourth Army was very backward in equipment, most of the soldiers held shuttle marks and large knives, and even the "Hanyang-made" were very few, and the combat effectiveness of the troops could be imagined, which was simply not enough to fight against the Japanese Kou.

Ye Ting was very anxious in the face of this situation, so he wrote to Li Xiuwen in Macau, hoping to help a little.

After Reading Ye Ting's letter, Li Xiuwen was also very supportive, and he knew it with affection and reason, and persuaded his family to support Ye Ting's great cause of resisting Japan. In the end, Li Xiuwen poured out her savings, and the family gave her a large amount of money, bought 3600 guns, and personally escorted them to southern Anhui.

Originally, the family did not agree with Li Xiuwen's personal escort, believing that this was too dangerous, but Li Xiuwen had already made up his mind and said to his family: "Now that the whole people are resisting the war, Ye Ting's New Fourth Army is in a difficult period, and I personally escorted the transport this time, not only for safety, but also to use this trip to declare the New Fourth Army's determination to resist the war to the world and arouse the enthusiasm of the people of the whole country for the war of resistance!" ”

But unexpectedly, after these guns arrived in Shangrao, Jiangxi, they were detained by Gu Zhutong. Li Xiuwen argued that he would rather be detained in a detention center than return to Macau, vowing not to be separated from these weapons.

After several twists and turns, Li Xiuwen finally sent a telegram to Ye Ting. After Ye Ting got the news, he rushed to Jiangxi at the first time and scolded Gu Zhutong. Gu Zhutong and Ye Ting were classmates of the Baoding Military Academy, and they consciously felt that they had to return all these weapons to Ye Ting.

When Ye Ting and Li Xiuwen returned to the Headquarters of the New Fourth Army, the New Fourth Army gave them a heroic welcome ceremony. After the chairman knew that Li Xiuwen had poured out his savings to buy weapons for the New Fourth Army, he was also very touched and said to President Zhu: "Comrade Xiuwen is really a woman with great national righteousness. ”

In January 1941, the Kuomintang planned the "Anhui Southern Incident" that shocked China and foreign countries, and Ye Ting was detained. After Li Xiuwen got the news in Macau, she was very anxious, washing her face with tears all day, she did not know what kind of ending Ye Ting was going to face, and she went to many places to inquire about Ye Ting's news and made a request to the Kuomintang for a visit, but all of them were rejected.

In 1942, Ye Ting was escorted to Guilin, Guangxi, and with the help of Li Jishen, Li Xiuwen finally obtained visitation rights and made an important decision: to accompany Ye Ting to prison.

In the second half of 1942, Li Xiuwen came to Guilin with several children and lived with Ye Ting. At that time, Ye Ting was under house arrest, there was no source of livelihood, and the donations given to him by people from all walks of life were also intercepted by the Kuomintang, in order to live, Li Xiuwen sold all his jewelry, and then bought 4 piglets and 12 goats, and every day he took his children to Houshan to fight pig grass, herd sheep, dig wild vegetables, and changed from a rich noblewoman to a peasant woman without complaint.

Later, for the safety of the children, Ye Ting entrusted someone to find Li Jishen and placed Li Xiuwen and the children in Guangzhou.

In 1946, when underground personnel of our party found Li Xiuwen and informed him of the news that General Ye Ting was about to be released from prison, Li Xiuwen was so excited that he personally took his two children to Chongqing to pick up Ye Ting from prison.

Originally, the two thought that this time they would grow old in vain, but neither of them expected that on the way to Yan'an, Ye Ting, Li Xiuwen and the two children were all killed. This year, Li Xiuwen was only 39 years old.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that Li Xiuwen and Ye Ting had a total of 9 children, in addition to one premature death, there were two killed with them, and the remaining 6 children, each of whom were all talents, especially the eldest son Ye Zhengda, was the first batch of aviation experts trained in New China, and was awarded the rank of lieutenant general.

Li Xiuwen and Ye Ting had a spirit in heaven, and it was time to be blind.
