In 1942, Yang Yulin, Li Station Chief, Yan Peiji, Xiao Yongquan and four other people were all employees of the Tianjin Railway, and were suspected of destroying the gunpowder depot of the Japanese Kou, and on March 10 of that year, the Japanese arrested the four people. They were detained in the Judicial Section of the Pseudo-Police Section of Tianjin East Railway Station, where they were interrogated by Hengxi, Nishimura, Haruki, Kimoto Kiyoshi of the Japanese Kou Gendarmerie, and Han Jizong, a traitor agent.
When the Japanese interrogated the railroad workers, they also arrested their mothers, wives, children, and siblings for jury. On March 23, the Japanese Kou conducted a third interrogation of Yang Yulin, still under joint interrogation by Han Jizong and the Japanese Kou gendarmes, who used electric torture and scalding to force him to say the names and addresses of his accomplices. Yang Yulin would rather die than say, Han Jizong was ashamed and angry, so he hit Yang's key point with a wooden stick, and Yang Yulin died on the spot. After Yang Yulin's death, his wife was tortured into madness, and her young son died a few days after being released home by Rikou due to fright and hunger.
In this tragic case, none of the other three people who were arrested together returned alive. Li Station Commander, whose real name is unknown, was also beaten to death by Rikou, while Yan Peiji was killed by Rikou with alcohol, and Xiao Yongquan was escorted to the Peiping Gendarmerie and later killed.
