The leader of the Eighth Route Army was named Long Shujin, a native of Chaling, Hunan, who began to learn martial arts when he was a teenager. At the age of 20, the Red Army passed through his hometown and chose to join the army. Because he knows some fist and foot kung fu, he "like a fish in the water" on the battlefield and has made great achievements. Within a few years, Long Shujin was promoted to company commander and participated in the Eastern Crusade.
In the period of the all-out War of Resistance, Long Shujin led his troops to the anti-Japanese front in Shandong, and repeatedly made miraculous achievements. In March 1939, in the area of Lubeiling County, Long Shujin led his troops to engage in a fierce battle with the Japanese army. During the battle, because Long Shujin rushed to the front, he was hit in the left upper arm by the Japanese secret gun. The warhead exploded inside the bone, causing Long Shujin to fracture his left arm and be carried off his position by the warriors.
After coming to the rear hospital, the doctor examined the wound and proposed that the operation must be performed immediately. However, due to the layers of blockade by the Japanese puppet army, the medicines in the rear could not be transported into the anti-Japanese base areas, and there was a shortage of anesthetics. The doctor asked: "The hospital has run out of anesthetics, should I replace it with morphine?" Long Shujin knew that morphine was easy to become addicted, and he resolutely refused, saying: "Comrade doctor, without anesthesia, you can't operate?" You boldly opened the operation, and I sat down in the chair, guaranteeing that I would not move and would not affect the surgical procedure. ”
The doctor had never seen such a steel warrior, and had never heard of such a request, marveling at the general's arrogance. The operation lasted for several hours, the scalpel hit the bone, making a "squeaking" sound, and Long Shujin did not move. When the operation was completed, Long Shujin did not say a word, but his clothes were all wet with sweat.
Another time, Long Shujin led the guards to Pingyuan County to carry out a secret mission. Suddenly, the Japanese army launched a major "sweep" around the plains, encircling the villages and conducting house-by-house searches. Long Shujin and the guards were surrounded by a village and had to hide, hoping to avoid the enemy's search.
At that time, a landlord's family in the village dug a large cellar to store vegetables in winter. Long Shujin saw that there was no hiding place in the village, and in a hurry, he took the guards and ripped open the jujube branches on the cellar and hid in the earth cellar. After entering the cellar, Long Shujin and the guards looked up and found that they had forgotten to cover the cellar door.
The cellar door is not covered, as long as the Japanese army breaks into the door and stops at the cellar entrance, Long Shujin and the guards will be exposed. As soon as the guards were about to go out and take the cellar cover, the Japanese army began to shout and kick the door of the landlord's house. Unable to go out anymore, the two eighth-route army comrades had to hope that the Japanese army would not come to the cellar mouth.
Suddenly, there was a sound of footsteps at the edge of the cellar, and a woman stepped on her small feet and came to the edge of the cellar. With all her strength, she moved the cellar cover, pulled the branches of the jujube tree apart, and covered the cellar lid. Before she put the lid on the cellar, she seemed to know that there was someone inside, and said, "Don't talk, the Japanese will leave in a moment!" ”
After the woman covered the cellar, she also took the branches of the jujube tree and swept away the footprints of Long Shujin and the guards. After a while, the Japanese army kicked open the door, issued a burst of "bird language", did not find an abnormal situation, looted grain and livestock, and then withdrew. It was about an hour or so before the cellar lid was opened, and the woman who had just said, "Comrade Eighth Route Army, come out!" ”
It turned out that the woman was the daughter-in-law of the landlord, and she saw the Eighth Route Army hiding in the cellar. She heard the Japanese army kicking at the door, and saw that the cellar mouth was open, so she quickly stepped on her small feet and covered the cellar. She saw that the footprints on the ground were obvious, and then erased the footprints with jujube branches, protecting the two eighth route army comrades.
Long Shujin thanked him one after another, quickly withdrew from the village, and returned to the army. After the founding of New China, Long Shujin was awarded the rank of major general and successively held important positions such as commander of the Guangdong Military Region, commander of the Hunan Military Region, and commander of the Xinjiang Military Region, but the housing problem has not yet been solved. At the end of the 1970s, Long Shujin proposed to the organization:
"Chickens have chicken coops, dogs have kennels, I have been revolutionary for decades, and I still don't have a nest."
The organization immediately arranged that Long Shujin had his own house and a safe place for the family. In 1983, the general officially retired, enjoyed the treatment of deputy of the Grand Military Region, and settled in Guangzhou. Because the old general killed too many Japanese troops, he was able to live a high life of 93 years and died in 2003.
