Li Dequan, who served as the chairman of the Chinese Women's Association, during the War of Resistance Against Japan, united women from all walks of life to actively support the anti-Japanese work, and in 1950 became the president of the Red Cross Society of China.
Li Dequan was born in Tongxian County, Beijing, born in an ordinary worker family, at that time there were many children in the family, Li Dequan was a girl who was not valued, and he had to shoulder the task of taking care of his younger brothers and sisters at a young age. She studied during the day and worked after school, and in such a difficult environment, she also completed her studies with amazing perseverance and was successfully admitted to Peking Union University for Women, which completely changed her destiny.
Originally, in the social environment at that time, a woman married a good family under the arrangement of her parents, which was the happiest thing in her life. But after reading books and having a broad vision, Li Dequan does not want to spend her life in a muddy state, and she also wants to fight for more reading opportunities and equal rights and interests for the majority of female compatriots. During her college years, she actively participated in activities, uniting her classmates to seek justice for bullied women and fighting for women's rights.
As the old saying goes, "The scarf does not let the eyebrows be shaved", when the Beiyang government signed an unequal treaty to lose power and humiliate the country, not only the hot-blooded men rose up to protest, but the women of the whole country also made their voices heard. Among them, Li Dequan was also one of the female students who had received intellectual education, and during the May Fourth period, she organized female students to protest in the streets and propagate patriotic ideas.
In 1919, Li Dequan graduated from college and entered the middle school to teach. In 1928, she founded the Qiuzhi College in Beiping, and later founded more than ten schools to support poor students to study. In 1936, she initiated the Women's Academic Research Association in Nanjing, which specialized in in-depth investigation and analysis of society and women's issues, and actively participated in the women's liberation movement.
Not only that, after Li Dequan married Feng Yuxiang, he had a profound impact on him, prompting him to transform from a warlord into a revolutionary soldier who fought for the country's great righteousness. In 1924, Li Dequan married Feng Yuxiang, and then went to the Soviet Union with Feng Yuxiang to investigate, during which time she explained in detail Mr. Zhongshan's "Outline of the Founding of the People's Republic" for her husband, so that Feng Yuxiang had a deep understanding of the Three People's Principles.
Li Dequan is the representative of a virtuous wife, who can assist her husband's career, has the great righteousness of the family and the country, and is also unique in educating her children. Several children of the Feng family have excelled under her education, and the two sons and one daughter have achieved good results. Daughter Feng Lida is a famous immunology expert in China, son Feng Hongzhi is an internationally renowned nuclear physicist, and Feng Hongda is an excellent rear admiral, all of whom are the pillars of the country.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Li Dequan participated in the preparation of the wartime childcare association at that time, when there were children orphaned by the war everywhere in China, who were young and struggled to survive, and the childcare association was created to take in these children.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Li Dequan took on the heavy responsibility and became the first minister of health, when the land of China had just ended its war and there were poor and homeless people everywhere. And the war brought not only destruction, but also infectious diseases that broke out at any time after the war and a large number of disabled people. Li Dequan was ordered to start building China's basic health prevention and control system, and in this position she worked hard for 15 years and made great contributions to the construction of China's health security system. After leaving office, he was elected vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and already belonged to the vice-state level leader.
In 1972, Li Dequan, who had worked for Chinese women and children all his life, died of illness in Beijing, and before his death, he still remembered China's health cause.
