However, Intel offers customers the option that the 12th Generation Core can be compatible with both DDR5 and DDR4 memory, and OEMs can choose to produce DDR5 or motherboards with DDR4 memory.

Judging from Intel's statement, they believe that supply problems are inevitable in the early stages of the DDR5 upgrade. All they can do is offer two options. Intel has done its best in this regard. However, motherboard manufacturers are now willing to support DDR5 for their 600 series motherboards for their own considerations.
