Purify the soul with landscape creation
Zhu Songmin based on the Lingnan painting circle with a unique painting style, as a typical Lingnanian, he cast his painting vision to the desert and the lonely, desolate and majestic west, and traveled in Tibet for many years to wash and purify his pen and ink and soul. With the devotion of the artist and the understanding of the breadth and vastness of nature, he formed a majestic painting language.
Zhu Songmin has gone deep into Tibet more than 20 times to experience life, from which he deeply experienced the charm of the plateau landscape, truly felt the inner grand and mysterious natural force, and the unique texture formed by nature through weathering and carving. According to this, he has his own unique perception of the western landscape - he extracts a kind of painting element of his own from the snowy plateau, reflecting the harmonious relationship between man and nature. Even the Tibetan antelope used for point scenes does not make specific depictions, but expresses it as a symbolic element of the picture. Even Zhu Songmin takes a certain color of natural richness as the main element of the picture, achieving emotional catharsis and strengthening the visual impact, so as to seek a breakthrough in painting. In terms of expression, he believes that using the brush and ink techniques of traditional literati painting cannot paint the temperament and taste he needs. It is necessary to use a combination of special techniques and pen and ink techniques, including traditional methods such as hitting water and powder, rubbing, etc., and try boldly.
It is precisely the understanding of the mysterious landscape of Tibet that Zhu Songmin's works, whether it is the series of snowy plateaus with high mountains and wide waters, or the series of flowers and birds with bright colors, are full of his inner awe and passion for landscapes, his perception of nature and introspection.
Zhu Songmin has always believed that tradition is actually a spirit of pen and ink, rather than a specific form of expression. It is the unique cognition of Chinese painting that enables his works to borrow the past and open up the present, atmospheric and profound, and form distinct personal artistic characteristics.
Give back to the community in an artistic way
"Art for the people" is not an empty slogan. Over the years, Zhu Songmin has been taking the responsibility and mission of an artist to do practical things and do public welfare. He believes that the current art market is relatively sluggish, which makes many painters confused, which requires artists to reflect social responsibility and responsibility to integrate social resources, exert their influence, and give back to society.
Recently, Zhu Songmin organized a number of Guangzhou artists, including Liu Sidong, Sun Ge, Tu Guoxi, Li Xiaobai, Liang Xiaozhuang, Shen Yongtai and other calligraphers and painters, collected dozens of works of art for auction to raise funds for art public welfare lectures and training, so that art went down to the grassroots, to the campus, to the streets, truly achieving art to serve the people, truly embodying the consciousness of an artist.
Zhu Songmin believes that artists should cherish the opportunities given by the platform of society, give full play to the talents of artists to do more things that are beneficial to society, and promote positive social energy through the medium of art.
Strictly speaking, art is not a matter of pure technique, nor is it simply painting. More importantly, it is necessary to exert social influence and aesthetic education functions, play an exemplary and exemplary role for society, and then specifically preach and teach, and use their own works to give back to society.
Earlier, Zhu Songmin joined hands with the Haizhu District Artists Association, the Calligraphers Association, and the Collectors Association to organize artist auctions to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the installation of handrails for the old stairs in some areas and to do practical things for the people. These old buildings themselves can not be equipped with elevators, and residents do not want to leave the old city, and it is much more convenient and safe to go up and down the stairs after installing handrails. These things are not big, but they are very beneficial to the people, and they have effectively solved the specific difficulties of the people and produced good social effects. Not long ago, he donated works such as "Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter" to the Tibetan landscape, which was auctioned with more than 100,000 yuan, all of which were used for public welfare undertakings. At the time of the interview, the representative of a public welfare foundation sent Zhu Songmin a certificate of thanks to express his gratitude for his benevolence and love.
Running a school is a great trust and an ideal
In addition to his status as an artist, Zhu Songmin is also the dean and administrator of Guangzhou Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, and the college has always been adhering to three teaching concepts: the first is art inheritance, through teaching to promote and inherit our traditional Chinese culture; the second is art self-cultivation, the college to calligraphy and painting and Sinology as the main school training, through the medium of calligraphy and painting, so that everyone can get the influence of traditional culture, get the benefits of body and mind; the third is the realization of the dream of art. Many people have dreams of becoming artists when they are young, but they have not been able to do so due to various factors in their work and life. After reaching a certain age, all aspects of the work and family are stable, but I hope to realize this dream.
The influence of calligraphy and painting not only fulfills the dream of artists, but also improves their artistic quality, and at the same time, artistic influence can also imperceptibly create an artistic atmosphere of a harmonious society and a harmonious family. This is the role of art, which has an invisible purifying effect on the mind.
As a medium of traditional Chinese culture, art needs to be promoted and inherited, which is also Zhu Songmin's ideal and philosophy of running a school. Adhering to the aspiration of the College of Calligraphy and Painting - a semi-public welfare school, Zhu Songmin hopes to build a social platform for the general public to exert their artistic potential, so that art can truly become a harmonious and beautiful lubricant for life.
Zhu Songmin believes that teaching is the most solid way of artistic inheritance, a way of practicing the ideal of painters, and at the same time, it is also the driving force that motivates him to continue to create. It is in this kind of teaching that Zhu Songmin pushed his paintings to go further.
Zhu Songmin, a native of Guangzhou, is currently the dean and professor of the Guangzhou Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a member of the China Artists Association, the vice chairman of the Guangzhou Artists Association, the vice president of the Guangzhou Famous Artists Art Promotion Association, the chairman of the Guangzhou Sports culture association, the director of the Guangdong Provincial Artists Association, the standing committee member of the CPPCC Haizhu District of Guangzhou, the vice chairman of the Guangzhou Haizhu District Literary Association, and the chairman of the Guangzhou Haizhu District Artists Association.
