The establishment of the Ming Dynasty is inseparable from a monarch like Zhu Yuanzhang, who is so talented and ambitious, and even more inseparable from the many able people behind him. Among these people, some are good at leading soldiers to fight, some sit in the rear, strategize, and there are people who have repeatedly plotted, and Liu Bowen is one of them.

Many of us know Liu Bowen because of his word, Liu Ji character Berwen, and in many anecdotes, he appears under the name Liu Bowen. Liu Bowen in history can be called a genius figure. At an early age, he showed excellent learning talent, at the age of 12 he was admitted to the middle school, and at the age of 14, he entered the school to study the Spring and Autumn Classics, and only read it twice before reciting it backwards. His teacher praised him, you must not be an ordinary person in the future! For the next ten years, he read a lot of books, and all his sons and sons knew everything.
At the age of 23, he took the Yuan Dynasty's temple examination for the first time, and he was admitted to the Jinshi. After that, he became an official in the Yuan Dynasty, no matter how big or small the official position, the local government could always be governed in an orderly manner and the people's livelihood was harmonious. However, at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, wars broke out, and his ambitions could not be realized, so he resigned his official post and returned home.
Until the age of 49, he met Zhu Yuanzhang, and at a glance, he believed that Zhu Yuanzhang was a person who could achieve great things, and he gave him advice. This first suggestion cleared Zhu Yuanzhang's two biggest opponents on the road to success, Zhang Shicheng and Chen Youyu, and the content of this proposal was to implement a one-front operation and break down one by one for Zhang Shicheng and Chen Youyi.
When Zhu Yuanzhang swept away all the armies, Liu Bowen put forward another suggestion, that is, to break away from Han Lin'er, the king of Xiaoming, develop his own strength, and establish the country's name of Daming, so that the heroes of the world can be used for themselves. This suggestion was deeply appreciated by Zhu Yuanzhang, and on the road to becoming emperor, it was impossible to send people under the fence, which showed that Liu Ji's political ability was very outstanding. His political ability also allowed him to navigate the Ming officialdom with ease, which was much stronger than Hu Weiyong and Lan Yu, so why did he end up dying in the official arena? This has to start from his relationship with Li Shanchang, on qualifications, Li Shanchang was the first group of people to follow Zhu Yuanzhang, and Liu Bowen started halfway, to say that Zhu Yuanzhang attaches great importance to the two, Li Shanchang is undoubtedly heavier.
After the founding of the people's republic, Liu Bowen and Li Shanchang served together in the capital, Li Shanchang was at this time the minister, and Liu Bowen was the imperial history of the Middle Cheng, in terms of official positions, Li Shanchang was far greater than Liu Bowen. However, Liu Bowen did not care about this, he proposed to the emperor to severely punish those who violated the law and discipline, and Li Shanchang's favorite minister Li Bin was impeached by Liu Bowen, Zhu Yuanzhang let Liu Bowen dispose of him himself, and Liu Bowen ordered Li Bin to be killed. After this incident, Li Shanchang's attitude towards Liu Bowen was extremely deteriorated. Li Shanchang had a student named Hu Weiyong, and the two of them also had a marriage relationship. Hu Weiyong's talent made him quickly ascend to the throne, take over the teacher's class, and become a minister. Throughout the imperial court, Liu Bowen offended many people, and Hu Weiyong was the leader of these people, constantly suppressing Liu Bowen in the imperial court. Even if he sealed Chengyi Bo, Liu Bowen knew that the situation was no longer something he could control, so he resigned and returned to his hometown.
Hu Weiyong did not let Liu Bowen go, he has been waiting for an opportunity. Finally, in the eighth year of Hongwu, Liu Bowen contracted a wind chill, and as the founding minister, Zhu Yuanzhang still had to express something. Hu Weiyong said that he could visit him, so he took the imperial doctor with him, and Liu Bowen followed the imperial doctor's prescription, and the result was more serious. So he went into the palace to meet Zhu Yuanzhang and told him about Hu Weiyong's visit to him, but the moment Zhu Yuanzhang's attitude was cold, he understood everything.
It is a small disease that can be cured, but after taking the prescription of the imperial doctor, it has become an incurable disease. Coupled with the emperor's attitude, Liu Bowen was physically and mentally exhausted, and he knew that his time was short. Before long, he knew that he was going to die, so he summoned his two sons and told them the truth of being an official, to be tough and gentle, to serve people with virtue, and to hand over his suicide note to the emperor after Hu Weiyong's death.
This legendary strategist left with regrets, many people believe that Hu Weiyong caused his death, and Zhu Yuanzhang's attitude was secondary, and his attitude made Liu Bowen understand that he was just a dispensable person. However, Zhu Yuanzhang did seize Hu Weiyong's handle again, and then executed Hu Weiyong along with the crime of rebellion. Zhu Yuanzhang does not know what it is, or whether this is his plan to kill two birds with one stone, and future generations have their own speculations.
Liu Bowen's death is a loss for Daming, and it is also a loss for the cultural community. He was not only a man of good strategy, but also a literary master. He, along with Song Lian and Gao Qi, is known as the three great poets of the early Ming Dynasty, leaving many works for future generations. In the final analysis, his death was the result of a failed struggle with the Huaixi clique of the Ming Dynasty. Li Shanchang and Hu Weiyong, as leaders of the Huaixi clique, single-handedly led to Liu Bowen's death.
