Not only in China, Tesla has recalled nearly 500,000 vehicles in the United States, which is close to last year's production.
U.S. road safety regulators said Thursday that Tesla is recalling more than 475,000 Model 3 and Model S electric vehicles to address rearview camera and front and rear trunk issues that are believed to increase the risk of crashes.
The recall is huge. In 2020, Tesla reached the milestone of delivering 500,000 electric vehicles, which means that the recall of 475,000 vehicles is close to the production of the whole of last year. As of the fourth quarter of 2021, Tesla has sold nearly 2 million vehicles.
Affected by the news of the large-scale recall of vehicles, Tesla's US stocks fell slightly before the opening of the market.
