Guangzhou: New energy vehicle production capacity of more than 2 million units in 2025, penetration rate of more than 50%

Recently, Zhichepai learned that the Guangzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission issued a notice on the official website of the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Innovative Development of Intelligent and New Energy Vehicles in Guangzhou". Among them, the plan proposes that by 2025, the city's automobile production capacity will exceed 5 million, and the output value of automobile manufacturing above designated size will strive to reach 1 trillion yuan; the production capacity of new energy vehicles will exceed 2 million, entering the top three cities in the country; and the penetration rate of new energy vehicles will exceed 50%.

In addition to the target of automobile production capacity, the plan also proposes that by 2025, Guangzhou's intelligent vehicle technology has also made breakthroughs. Intelligent vehicles with level 2 combined driving assistance and above automatic driving level account for 80% of the total number of new vehicles, and the power consumption of pure electric passenger cars per 100 kilometers has been reduced to 12.0 kWh, and fuel cell passenger cars with independent core technologies have been launched.

Overall, Guangzhou currently has 11 vehicle manufacturing enterprises, there are more than 1,200 auto parts production and trade enterprises gathered here, last year the city's automobile production reached 2.95 million, accounting for 11.7% of the national output increased, has maintained the first national automobile production for two consecutive years. It is worth mentioning that not long ago, the Guangzhou Municipal Transportation Bureau announced the increase in the incremental indicators of small and medium-sized passenger cars in 2022 to 38,000, which also reflects the current hot development of the new energy vehicle market.
