Wang Lingyun was born in the army, started as a guard, and after being appreciated by the governor Zheng Guohan, he rose from captain Road to major battalion commander, and four years later was incorporated by Zhang Xiao, commander-in-chief of the 20th Road of the Kuomintang, and promoted to major general division commander. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he led his troops to participate in the Battle of Songhu, the Battle of Nanchang, and the Battle of Guinan, and was promoted by Chiang Kai-shek to the commander of the 76th Division.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, he served as the commander of the Western Yunnan Garrison, and by 1947 he was transferred to the Shandong Battlefield, and after Zhang Lingfu was trapped in Menglianggu, he was ordered to break the siege, and was finally blocked by the East China Field Army on the periphery. Later, Wang Lingyun relieved the besieged 11th Division Hu Lian and the 8th Army Li Mi at the Battle of Nanma, becoming a veritable firefighting captain.
In 1948, Wang Lingyun led his troops to retreat to Xiangyang, and then to Sichuan to deploy in the area of Daba Mountain, but as the People's Liberation Army army pressed the border, Wang Lingyun's troops suffered heavy losses. In order not to be taken prisoner, he felt that the number of troops did not have much combat effectiveness, and the target was large, and it was easy to be annihilated by the People's Liberation Army, so he threw off the troops, disguised himself, and fled to Chengdu.
In 1950, Wang Lingyun no longer wanted to hide in Tibet, he hoped to find a local village girl to marry and have children, and live an ordinary life. But unexpectedly, after the marriage partner he found out his identity, he actually denounced him and was immediately captured by the People's Liberation Army. In this way, the former Kuomintang army lieutenant general was imprisoned in the Beijing Gongdelin War Law Management Center for reform.
In 1961, Wang Lingyun became the third batch of war criminals to be pardoned for his good performance. After his release from prison, he went to the outskirts of Beijing to learn the art of cultivating fruits. By 1963, he sent his family to Zhengzhou and became a commissioner of the Henan CPPCC Secretariat. After the outbreak of the Cultural Revolution, he ran away from home and was never heard from. I have to say that the times have created his sorrow.
