On December 28th, the Biathlon International Training Week kicked off at the National Biathlon Center in zhangjiakou of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The four-day training week is the finale of the "Meet in Beijing" series of winter sports events.

The National Biathlon Center is located in the valley on the north side of the ancient poplar stadium group in Zhangjiakou Division, and from north to south, the range, the track and the starting and ending area, and the venue technical building are arranged sequentially. The track is divided into 11 track segments with a total length of 12.3 kilometers, built along the natural terrain of the mountain, and is divided into the main race track, the Paralympic sitting track and the training track. This training week will mainly use the track used in the Winter Olympic Games.

The venue will host 11 minor biathlon events at the Winter Olympic Games and 38 minor events in biathlon and cross-country skiing at the Winter Paralympic Games.

During the Winter Olympics, 40 biathlon teams are expected to participate, with a quota of 210 athletes, 315 accompanying officers, and 315 international federations and technical officials. During the Winter Paralympic Games, 40 teams are expected to participate, with a quota of 210 athletes, 420 accompanying officers, and 26 international federations and technical officials.

The testers will conduct 8 hours of tests every day to comprehensively test the competition work in various aspects of the athletes' comprehensive area, track, waxing room and other venues.

Wang Shuang, deputy director of the media of the National Biathlon Center, introduced: "Before the start of this test activity, the hardware and software of the venue have been completed, the snowmaking and snow press work has been completed, and the 30 electronic targets in the shooting area have also been installed and debugged, which has reached the conditions for holding training weeks and the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. A total of 17 areas of the venue operation team participated in the test, including sports, electricity, technology, medical care, volunteer fields, etc. ”

Chen Guohui, venue and infrastructure manager of the National Biathlon Center, said: "This is a new snow venue, from the beginning we have a long-term consideration, the permanent facility volume is one-half of the temporary facility, most of the functions of the venue are satisfied by temporary facilities. ”

According to the schedule, the National Biathlon Center will become the venue with the most competition days in the ancient poplar stadium group, and the snow time spans from the beginning of February to the end of the Winter Paralympic Games in mid-March, which brings challenges to the mountain operation work.

Wei Qinghua, manager of the mountain operation site of the ancient poplar tree stadium group, introduced: "Snowmaking and snow pressing is the main work of mountain operation, after six weeks of hard work, we have completed the snowmaking work of all the Winter Olympic and Paralympic tracks in the winter two centers, and the snow pressing work is carried out every day. ”
