Chen Zhuo was born in 871 AD, when he was young, he was not the same as others, many children have begun to speak when they are one or two years old, but he can't open his mouth when he is 4 years old, because the family conditions are not good, although the family is in a hurry, there is nothing he can do, see if he is still healthy, he can only comfort himself, maybe the child himself can not speak.
It wasn't until he was 5 years old that he was playing by a nearby river, met a woman dressed in green clothes, drank the woman's milk, and came home not only able to speak, but also became smarter. He began to enter the academy to study, his memory was super strong, he was good at writing poetry, he was very interested in Taoist thought, and liked to learn Taoism.
In 888, he was also summoned by the emperor and given the title. In 932, when he once again failed to pass the imperial examination, he chose to leave his hometown and travel around to learn The Taoist Law, and later he met two Taoist masters, and under the guidance of these two masters, he came to the Wudang Mountains to live in seclusion.
These two masters like to imitate snakes hibernating in winter to prolong their life, and taught this method to Chen Zhuo Chen Xuan also began his own practice during his seclusion, and every time he slept, he often did not wake up for more than 100 days, and after waking up every day, he only drank a few glasses of wine to enough nutrition for his body.
Won Huashan
After more than 20 years, Chen Xuan went to a Taoist temple in Huashan to practice, because he slept for too long, he was called a sleeping immortal by the locals, and his local fame was getting bigger and bigger, many people saw him at such an old age, still crane hair and childlike appearance, the spirit was strong, and he was also very impressed, and he would also come to ask him about the way of self-cultivation.
The Later Zhou Emperor at that time also heard his story, summoned him to the palace, and left him to live for more than a month, asking him how to cultivate the Tao, how to get the ascension? Although Chen Xuan rested on the Dao Fa, after hearing the emperor's question, he still persuaded the emperor that he should focus on governing the country and should not be too obsessed with the Daoist fa.
Although the emperor was a little unhappy, he did not blame him, and he was also very curious about the fact that he could sleep for more than 100 days, and even had some doubts, so he sent him to a house and instructed the people around him not to send him food and water every day, to see how long he could sleep.
After Chen Xuan was locked up in the room, he began to sleep again, and slept for more than a month without being disturbed, until the emperor came to see him again, and he was not woken up. Chen Xuan's daily practice was in Mount Hua, and the mountain was owned by himself, and it is said that he bet with Zhao Kuangyin to win the mountain at that time.
When Chen Zhuo had traveled before, he had seen Zhao Kuangyin's parents, carrying a flat burden, and there was a basket at each end of the burden, and inside sat Zhao Kuangyin and his brother Zhao Guangyi, and after Chen Xuan saw it, he also told their parents that in the basket picked, there were actually two emperors sitting.
But at that time, his parents were hiding from the war, and they did not listen to his words. Later, Zhao Kuangyin gradually grew up, and once again met Chen Zhuo on the street, Chen Zhuo had a basket of peaches at that time, Zhao Kuangyin ate peaches but was unwilling to give money, Chen Kuangyin bet with each other on the two of them to play a game of chess.
If Zhao Kuangyin wins, Chen Zhuo will give this basket of peaches to the other party, and if Zhao Kuangyin loses, he will give Mount Hua to himself. He also took out a pen and ink, and the two of them wrote down the bets and signed the bet, Zhao Kuangyin was not safe at that time, and had no rights at all, let alone give Huashan away.
At that time, I thought that this old man was confused and happy to bet with him, and after losing, he did not pay special attention. Later, Zhao Kuangyin became emperor and realized that many years ago, Chen Zhuo had anticipated this day, and also gave Huashan to the other party like a bet, and later invited him to the palace, hoping that he could serve himself, but Chen Zhuo still refused.
He died at the age of 118
Chen Zhuo was very researched in Taoism, and wrote the secret of sleep and longevity into books, which were very popular at the time, and many of them were later lost. He traveled around to teach and became more famous, took in some apprentices, Zhao Guangyi summoned him to give him the Dao number after he ascended the throne, and in 989 Chen Zhuo asked people to dig a grotto nearby.
Then he instructed Tiao to put himself in. After the grotto was dug, Chen Zhuo lay down and died not long after he lay inside, at the age of 118, and after his death, his limbs did not stiffen, and even had some temperature. Moreover, there were also colorful auspicious clouds at the door of the cave, which also made the people around him admire him even more and think that he was a high-ranking person.
