But in fact, this statement cannot be established, because in the original work, through the mouth of the Hengshan Sect disciple Yi Hezhi, it has been clearly stated that the Hengshan Sect does not have a door rule of not accepting male disciples. Therefore, there are no male disciples, it is just a tradition, not a dead rule.
On the other hand, this is only a matter of setting, if you consider the sense of violation, Mr. Jin Yong can completely set the Beiyue Hengshan Sect as a male-dominated sect, and the plot of the original Hengshan Sect can be transferred to the Nanyue Hengshan Sect.
In this way, Ling Hu Chong's birth from the Northern Yue Hengshan Sect could explain the ground.

As for why Ling Hu Chong appeared in Shaanxi, it was because later the Ling Hu family once again expanded outward. The first expansion allowed the Linghu family to spread all over Shanxi, and the second expansion allowed them to go to the whole country.

After Ling Humai's death, his youngest son Ling Hu took refuge and led some of his people away from Taiyuan, where they had lived for generations, and then left for the Western Regions. They crossed the Hexi Corridor and settled in Dunhuang, thus forming the Dunhuang Linghu clan.
Due to the chaos at the end of the Western Jin Dynasty, many of the Great Central Plains clans declined, and the Western Regions became a paradise because they were less affected by the war.
The Dunhuang Linghu clan continued to grow and develop during this period, and by the time of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, it had become a well-known clan in the Western Regions. At this time, the reputation of this branch of the Dunhuang Linghu clan had surpassed that of the ben family.
However, the Western Regions were not the core areas of Chinese civilization, and the Dunhuang Linghu Clan only focused on the development of the family because they were avoiding military disasters. They have been waiting for an opportunity, and as soon as the time comes, they will return to the Central Plains.
The opportunity finally came, and in the last year of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Emperor Xiaowu Yuanxiu clashed with the powerful minister Gao Huan, and moved west to Chang'an to avoid his attack, and since then Northern Wei has fallen into a split.
However, Emperor Xiaowu had just left the tiger's mouth and entered the wolf's den, and soon became a puppet under the control of Yuwen Tai, the leader of the Guanlong nobles. Ling Huzhen, who was then the general of Lang Kou, saw this good opportunity with a keen eye, and he was determined to throw himself into the Yuwen family's door.
Soon, Ling Huzhen arrested Deng Yan, who was in trouble in Guazhou, and escorted him to Jingshi, thus gaining Yuwen Tai's appreciation. It was a wise decision for Ling Fox to press the treasure on Yuwen Tai, and he has been on the rise ever since.
However, at this time, the world was undecided, and the three kingdoms of Northern Zhou, Northern Qi, and Southern Chen were established side by side, so that the Fox family did not abandon the accumulation of years in the Western Regions, they were only officials in the Central Plains, and the base camp remained in Dunhuang.
By the time Ling Fox Xi, the son of Ling Hu, was in full swing, the situation had changed again. At this time, the Sui Dynasty had already unified the world, and the time had come for the Fox Family to return to the Central Plains.
Since the capital of the Sui and Tang dynasties was located in Chang'an, after Dunhuang linghu moved east, it also put the family's foundation in the core position of the empire, that is, Guanzhong, which is also the practice of many family families.
After Ling Huxi's death, he was buried in Chang'an for a short time, after which the clan moved his coffin to Huayuan County.
