On December 27th, sponsored by China Culture International Travel Service Co., Ltd. and Beijing Zhongchuang Cultural Tourism Cultural Industry Group, "Meeting Ancient Egypt, Golden Mummies" has just finished its special exhibition in Beijing, and once again landed at the Meet The Museum Shanghai Jing'an Pavilion, which focuses on the mummies in world-class collections and explores Egypt's beliefs in the afterlife during the reign of ancient Greece and Rome.
The exhibition is divided into 7 exhibition units, with a total of 107 rare treasures of ancient Egypt on display, all from the Manchester Museum in the United Kingdom.
Among them, the most noteworthy exhibits are the 6 golden mummies, which come from ancient Egypt during the "Greco-Roman" period around the 1st century AD. The exhibition also includes 11 fayum mummies from about 2000 years ago and 2 portrait mummies. The mummified portraits of the Roman period, the so-called "portraits of Fayoum", are among the most striking portraits of the ancient world.
In addition to the above-mentioned very valuable exhibits, the exhibits in this exhibition also include 12 gilded painted mummified masks; 18 ancient Greek-style gods, sculptures and stone tablets; 25 ancient Egyptian aristocratic clay pots and jewelry; 33 glass containers, papyrus documents and other rare treasures.
