"Ants Look at the Turtle"

Author: Xiang Hua / Editor, Tian Ziqian / Painting

Guangxi Normal University Press

"Ants Look at the Turtle" is adapted from "The Silkworm", which tells the fable story of a group of ants watching the turtle.

Once upon a time, there was a small red ant. I heard that there is a sacred turtle in the East China Sea, riding penglai mountain. It invites its companions to see the Turtles together. They walked and walked to the east coast, and they didn't see the shadow of the turtle. They were a little discouraged and decided to go home. At this time, the wind on the surface of the sea was fierce, setting off thousands of waves and thunder. The ants were frightened and fled. The wind and waves lasted for several days, and finally one day, the sea returned to its former calm. Right between the blue sea and the blue sky, an island rises on the surface of the sea, gently swaying with the waves. It turned out that this was the legendary turtle riding penglai mountain. Everyone was disappointed and talked in a tongue-in-cheek manner. They believe that the turtle is nothing remarkable, riding the Penglai Mountain, and the ant head with a small grain of rice, no different. In this way, everyone experienced a lot of wind and rain and happily embarked on the road home.
