On December 27th, as the first offline flagship museum of "Meet the Museum" in East China, two blockbuster exhibitions, "Meet the Golden Mummy of Ancient Egypt" and "Meet the Dawn of Impressionist Normandy: The Rheology of European Painting in the Nineteenth Century", were officially unveiled at the Jing'an Pavilion in Shanghai.

The exhibition "Encountering Ancient Egypt and Golden Mummies" is divided into 7 exhibition units, the most noteworthy exhibits are 6 golden mummies, from ancient Egypt during the "Greco-Roman" period around the 1st century AD. The exhibition also includes 11 fayum mummies from about 2000 years ago and 2 portrait mummies. The mummified portraits of the Roman period, the so-called "portraits of Fayoum", are among the most striking portraits of the ancient world. In addition, the exhibits include 12 gilded painted mummified masks; 18 ancient Greek-style deities, sculptures and stone tablets; 25 ancient Egyptian noble clay pots and jewelry; 33 glass containers, papyrus documents and other rare treasures.
The "male mummy mask" of the circa 1st century AD shows a man with a goatee beard, not much beard, as if he had just taken off his hood. He holds a garland and a roll of papyrus, a symbol of literacy, adulthood and status. The mask has been extensively restored several times in modern times.
Circa 1st century AD "Issos Female Mummy", the Roman style hairstyle and jewelry of the deceased can be seen from the gilded mask of this mummy, and the egyptian gods are painted on the outside with patterns and hieroglyphs.
The "Girl Mummy" of the circa 1st century AD, a miniature version of the mummy of an adult female, was quite ornate in jewelry that looked like a wealthy Roman, the mask was made of gilded condensed pulp, and the wrapped cloth was painted with a large number of Egyptian images – a typical feature of the Hawala region in the 1st century AD.
Around the 1st century AD , " Palmyra 's burial bust " , in the era when mummified painted figures and masks were popular in Egypt , other parts of the Roman Empire also made busts commemorating the deceased. One depicts an unnamed woman wrapped in a headscarf, headband and veil; the other depicts a bearded man holding a scroll.
The 2nd century AD "Male Mummy", a portrait of a male mummy from Hawala, shows the image of a mature man with a beard. The portrait painting style belongs to the reign of Hadrian the Great (117-138 AD), and the wrapped cloth is painted with elaborate round necks and traditional Egyptian funeral scenes.
A pair of gold earrings from the 1st century BC, with very delicate granular ornaments, is very different in design from the Egyptian style.
Around the 1st century AD "snake-shaped bracelet", the coiled snake is a symbol of power and protection. During the "Greco-Roman" period, this Egyptian royal privilege was also adopted in the burial customs of non-royals, and similar bracelet patterns were painted on the mummified lids of upper-class women.
The exhibition "Meeting the Dawn of Impressionism normandy: The Flow of European Painting in the Nineteenth Century", which opened at the same time, all of which came from the collection of 61 original works of the masters of the French Norman Painting Society, including the works of French masters such as Delacroix, Courbet, Corot, Manet, Monet and Morisso.

In 1892, Eugène Boudin's oil painting "The Boat of Etretta", Boudin was Monet's teacher, one of the first French painters to create landscapes and seascapes outdoors, and was praised by Crozan as the "King of the Sky". In this painting, Boudin focuses on several small boats moored on the beach near Elephant Trunk Hill.
Around 1849 Eugène de la Croix's oil painting "Etretat" features Normandy's iconic Elephant Trunk Mountain. Eugène de la Croix was a French Romantic painter, and when depicting Etretta, Delacroix chose an aerial perspective, highlighting the visual feeling of the deep bay and towering cliffs, conveying a "sense of sublimity" that Romanticism admired.

It is reported that in addition to the two blockbuster exhibitions, the Meet The Museum Shanghai Jing'an Museum will also launch original works and fine exhibitions in 2022, including Rococo artist Boucher, Impressionist artist Renoir, Raphael pre-School artist Miles, Cubist artist Picasso, street graffiti artist Keith Haring, Japanese ukiyo-e painter Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Hiroshige, Kitagawa Koji and other art masters. At the same time, the popular "Meet Dunhuang" light and shadow art exhibition will also meet the audience in Shanghai in the second half of 2022.
