Users who use the Ryzen 5000 on the Linux platform have picked up the treasure this time.
A few days ago, the Linux 5.16 kernel went live, and after Phoronix testing (Linux 5.16 + Mesa 22.0-dev), it was a surprise to find that compared to 5.15/5.11, the new kernel is very friendly to the Ryzen APU that integrates Radeon GPUs, with a performance increase of as low as 2% and as high as 28% (Xonotic 0.8.2).

Taking the Ryzen 5500U as an example (Zen2), there was a 14% improvement in the GLmark 2 test, and another Zen3-based Ryzen 7 Pro 5850U notebook also had a similar performance.
Slightly regrettably, the performance of the GPU part seems to be the same as always, and there is no surprise like the CPU.
In this way, the Linux 5.16 kernel is highly recommended for upgrades. As planned, its stable version will be officially launched on January 9.
