Li Jing was a military expert of the Tang Dynasty, he was first a general of the Sui Dynasty, and then he switched to the Tang Dynasty, making many military achievements for the establishment of the Tang Dynasty.
We know that Li Jing was one of the twenty-four heroes of Ling Yange, but during the tang suzong period, tang suzong included Li Jing in the ranks of the top ten famous generals in history.
So why did Tang Suzong do this? There are three reasons for this.
1. Noh Wu
Li Jing was born as a military general, so it was not surprising that he was able to use martial arts. However, his level of ability in the use of soldiers was no less than that of Han Xin, and when Li Jing was young, his uncle Han Huhu once said that he could discuss Sun Wu with him, and wu Qi's tactics were only Li Jing.
During the Battle of Gangneung, Li Jing used different tactics to win the war according to the terrain. Later, different tactical strategies were adopted in the wars before and after the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, so that he won victories in all the battles in which he participated.
This was rare at the time, and Li Jing did not blindly engage the enemy head-on, but used tactics to defeat the enemy, which Tang Suzong admired.
2. Noh Wen
Li Jing is not only able to fight, but also to write. He grew up reading poetry and books, and when he became an adult, he was full of money. After Li Yuan raised an army to invade Chang'an, he captured Li Jing and wanted to kill Li Jing.
As a result, Li Jing was in a hurry and stimulated Li Yuan with words, so Li Yuan released him and was reused by Li Shimin.
Li Jing could not have done this without culture. After the establishment of the Tang Dynasty, Li Jing appeased the people in Lingnan, won the support of the people, and stabilized the society in Lingnan.
This is also what Tang Suzong is very eager for, because Tang Suzong has taken the throne in the midst of turmoil, so he is very eager to be able to calm the turmoil.
3. Emperor Suzong of Tang encouraged the generals
In order to encourage the generals to continue to defend the Tang Dynasty, and also hoped that they could be as literate and martial as Li Jing, Emperor Suzong of Tang included Li Jing in the ranks of the top ten famous generals in history.
We know that Tang Suzong ascended the throne during the Anshi Rebellion, so the Tang Dynasty at this time was in a period of civil unrest, and during the reign of Tang Suzong, the Anshi Rebellion was not completely settled, so Tang Suzong very much hoped that there would be generals who would come out to stabilize the situation and calm the civil unrest.
However, at this time, the morale of the generals was not high, and years of war had exhausted them physically and mentally, which made Tang Suzong a little anxious.
Emperor Suzong of Tang then included Li Jing and ten other historical generals in the ranks of the top ten famous generals, hoping to stimulate the morale of the generals, continue to fight against the rebels, and stabilize the hearts and minds of the Tang Dynasty.
Li Jing was a famous general during the Tang Taizong period, and Tang Taizong had many famous generals, but there were not many famous generals who could write and fight. Li Jing could not only fight wars, but also settle the country, such a talent, any wise emperor would want to appoint, but there was a lack of such people during the Tang Suzong period.
The Tang Suzong period was also a period of prosperity and decline of the Tang Dynasty, so Tang Suzong wanted to revive the Tang Dynasty, but there were not many ways to reward the generals, but there was not so much money, so there was only a reward for the generals in history.
This also tells us that a person is talented and capable and will never be forgotten at any time. Therefore, we do not have to fight for a moment's work, a momentary anger, because people have left their names and geese behind their voices.
