In fact, we must check whether the setting of this test drive is reasonable before departure, because the same car will give you a completely different driving experience under different settings, 4S shops will often set the vehicle to a state that is most in line with the current test drive route, and this state may not be the most commonly used after your car is bought home, some functions are even provided in the version you purchased, so we must confirm the version of the test drive with the test drive specialist after getting on the car, so we must know what to expect, The vehicle is then set up in a targeted manner.
Seating and sitting posture
Sitting posture will affect your judgment of a car's acceleration, braking, handling and comfort to some extent, so a suitable sitting posture is very important. There is no absolute standard for sitting posture, mainly in line with personal habits, it is recommended to abide by three principles, the height of the line of sight falls at 1/2 of the front windshield, the arm is naturally straightened after the wrist can be just at 12 o'clock position on the steering wheel, and the right leg should be able to use the most labor-saving posture to step on the brake pedal to the end.
Power mode
Most of today's models offer more than one power model, such as standard, sporty, economical, snow, grass, track, and so on. The power characteristics of the engine and transmission are different in different modes, and it is recommended that you set it to the standard mode, because this is the most balanced and the most commonly used mode. Some models with poor power, the 4S store may default to the sport mode to cover up its lack of power, be sure to confirm in advance.
Set start-stop and energy recovery
My suggestion is to turn on the start-stop function, because many models are turned on by default in daily use, so it is best to feel the noise and setbacks during start-stop when test driving. In addition, for new energy vehicles, kinetic energy recovery is also a function that will produce frustration, it is recommended that the standard mode and the larger mode should be tried, and can be used in the future, while the single pedal mode is not recommended to be used in the test drive, because there are certain safety hazards.
Set up the SOC
The so-called SOC is the power balance point, which is a unique setting of the plug-in hybrid model, which is used to specify how much the battery will maintain the power, and the SOC and the flea power are different, and the vehicle will often show different dynamics. When test driving, it is recommended to adjust the SOC to the minimum, and it is best to ensure that the battery is in a state of power loss, at which time the power performance of the vehicle in the state of power loss can be tested, as well as the jitter and noise of the engine intervention. However, for those hybrid models that are not test-driven, 4S stores often charge as soon as they are idle, and the power is always in a very full state, so it is necessary to adjust the SOC to the highest and force the engine to intervene. In short, keep in mind a principle, hybrid models try not to test drive in pure electric mode when fully charged, but in hybrid mode when power is lost, because the latter is the most commonly encountered state in the future.
Chassis adjustment
Some models of steering wheel strength, brake pedal foot feel, suspension height soft and hard, etc. can be adjusted individually, which will not only affect the handling style, but also affect the comfort. It is recommended to set all as default or standard, or the same reason, this is the most balanced and most commonly used state in the future.
Gauges and machines
From the instrument and the car machine we can get important vehicle information, but now the car meter and the car machine interface is more and more complex, more and more personalized, sometimes 4S shops will use this to deliberately hide some important data. It is recommended to make sure that the fuel consumption meter on the instrument is called out and returned to zero before the test drive, so as to observe the fuel consumption during the test drive. In addition, turn off the radio and music in the car machine so as not to mask tire noise, wind noise and engine noise.
Intelligent assisted driving
It is recommended to turn on all the intelligent auxiliary driving functions on the car, such as lane keeping, automatic follow-up, active braking, etc. Although we cannot test the quality of each function through a short test drive, at least we can feel whether they will interfere with our driving in the test drive, such as false alarms, false triggers, grabbing the steering wheel and so on.
