Warriors are needed in times of war. Today, I will talk to you about Chen Yongxing, a warrior in the New Fourth Army during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, known as the "Lonely Hero."
Chen Yongxing was a soldier of the Third Detachment of the New Fourth Army, six regiments, one battalion, one company, and three platoons. He was born in 1909 in Ningde, Fujian Province, joined the Red Army's Mindong Independent Division in 1937, and after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he became a soldier of the New Fourth Army after the Red Army guerrilla unit that insisted on guerrilla warfare in the south was reorganized into the New Fourth Army.

In 1941, Li Changjiang, deputy commander of the Kuomintang Lusuwan Guerrilla Corps, led a large group of men and horses to defect to the Japanese and became traitors. At that time, Chen Yongxing was working as a scout in Ye Fei's regiment.
Once, after the New Fourth Army took Jiangyan, Chen Yongxing, dressed in plain clothes and riding a newly captured bicycle, was reconnoitring the enemy on the road from Jiangyan to Taizhou, and as a result, he mistakenly entered the regimental headquarters of Li Changjiang's unit. At this time, it was too late to avoid it, Chen Yongxing quickly calculated in his head: Why not do this!
Chen Yongxing immediately told the puppet army that I had important information to report to the regimental commander. After seeing the pseudo-regimental commander, he immediately took out a grenade, pulled out the string, and shouted: "The New Fourth Army is coming!" Hurry up and give the order to surrender the gun, or you will die together! ”
The pseudo-regimental commander originally did not want to follow Li Changjiang to the enemy as a traitor, but today he encountered a New Fourth Army that was not afraid of death, so he ordered his subordinates to pile up their guns together and gather about a battalion of troops to follow Chen Yongxing to the assembly area of the 1st Regiment of the New Fourth Army and became a prisoner. Since then, comrades-in-arms have called Chen Yongxing a "lonely hero."
Chen Yongxing was also promoted to platoon leader of the sixth company and three platoons of the second battalion of the first regiment of the New Fourth Army because of his wit and bravery this time.
In March 1944, the First Division of the New Fourth Army and the Soviet Central Military Region launched the Battle of Cheqiao to expand the Liberated Area. Chen Yongxing served as a regiment of assault platoons, and in the Yamazawa Brigade of the 72nd Brigade of the Japanese Army, he led the commandos to engage in close-range white-knife combat with the enemy. Chen Yongxing rushed to the front, stabbing, provoking, and dialing all of them, and one of them was a tall and powerful Japanese soldier who came to meet him and became the ghost under his sword. At this time, his hand was also injured by the devil's bayonet, and the gun was lost. The mighty and tall Chen Yongxing immediately drew a grenade from each waist, as if picking up two iron hammers and smashing them at the enemy, after killing three Japanese soldiers in a row, he was also stabbed by the sharp knife stabbed by the Japanese army from behind, and he was heroically sacrificed.
The Battle of Cheqiao, which annihilated a total of 465 Japanese troops, 483 puppet troops, and captured 24 devils alive, was the largest number of Japanese troops annihilated by the New Fourth Army in central China since the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. However, the lone hero Chen Yongxing left us forever, only 35 years old.
