Malaysian investment bank RHBInvestmentBank recently released an investment appraisal report, which mentions the trend and product planning of the French brand Peugeot in Malaysia next year, which mentions that the brand will introduce a pure electric (EV) version of e2008 to Malaysia in the fourth quarter of next year (December).
The e2008 is also a member of the pure electric family that marks the first pure electric family in the 2008 series, which is actually based on the new 2008 urban BSegment cross-border SUV, canceling the traditional internal combustion engine and gearbox, and instead using electric motors and battery packs, becoming a pure battery motor-driven electric vehicle.
It is worth mentioning that e2008 and the new generation of 2008 were released together in June 2019, but Malaysia has experienced many action control orders in the past two years, and the logo has also undergone a change of agency rights in Malaysia, so the new 2008 has not been officially listed in Malaysia so far.
According to the investment bank, it seems that the new generation of 2008 is expected to be listed in Malaysia before the fourth quarter of next year, and then it will be the turn of the pure electric e2008 and the e2008 is obviously brought in by taking advantage of the full tax incentives provided to EVs in the next two years, which is a product that tests the water temperature and enhances the brand image more than actually strives for sales and profits.
The pure electric e2008 uses a single motor design, with 130 horsepower and 260Nm torque, and with a 50kWh capacity lithium-ion battery, the original manufacturer claims that the use of 230V home charger takes 16 hours to fully charge.
However, if the 7.4kW single-stage charging pile is used, it takes only 8 hours, the use of the three-stage 11kW charging pile takes only 5 hours and 15 minutes, and if the 100kW DC fast charging device is used, it can be charged in 30 minutes, and the cruising range after full power can reach up to 345 kilometers.
In terms of appearance, the pure electric e2008 and the general version of the 2008 are basically the same in design, except that the e2008 water tank shroud adopts the same color as the body paint, and there is also an e logo on the side wingboard of the car, and the tire with less rolling resistance is also used.
