Tesla is gearing up to launch its flagship model for the Model 3, the Model 3 Performance, and new details about the powerful electric four-door sedan have surfaced on the web. It was recently revealed that the new car, which is expected to be called the Model 3 Performance again, will feature two new high-performance electric motors, which together can output more than 500 horsepower.
Previous leaked information indicates that the front motor has 201 hp, while the rear motor delivers 406 hp. The total output of the two electric motors is lower than the sum of these two numbers combined, and that's because the two motors achieve optimal performance at different speeds.
Potential buyers awaiting the new Model 3 Performance will also be pleased to know that the model's suspension has been upgraded. According to InsideEVs, the car will be equipped with a new in-house software-driven active suspension system that provides enhanced body control without sacrificing comfort for everyday use. It's unclear if the driver will be able to adjust the shock, only that everything can be adjusted automatically by the car's advanced computer, but Tesla does say that there is a new driving mode that integrates active suspension control, suggesting that it will be customizable.
Tesla has also developed a new track mode software for the car, called V3. This mode readjusts the powertrain and automatic suspension for more power while driving. Tesla also said that the driver will be able to adjust the handling balance, stability control and regenerative braking system.
The new Model 3 Performance is also said to enhance pedal feel and improve thermal management", probably after upgrading the braking system.
Finally, the Model 3 Performance is expected to feature exclusive front and rear trims, a large rear downdraft diffuser, and a carbon fiber spoiler. There will also be a new set of lightweight wheels. Interior updates will be more subtle, including carbon fibre trim and new seats with a more supportive focus to help keep the driver and front passenger in place, while making the most of 500 hp on the road.
