He was the most capable fighter under Hu Zongnan, during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression from the Great Wall to Western Yunnan, and Peng Shuai said he could not die

Zhong Song, a lieutenant general in the Kuomintang army, was the most capable fighter under Hu Zongnan's command; he fought from the Great Wall to western Yunnan during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and later he fought with our Northwest Field Army, causing a lot of trouble for Peng Shuai. Of course, no one can stop the course of history, and Zhong Song cannot escape the fate of failure no matter how much he fights, and in the end he still loses Taiwan.

Today's number will talk about this Zhong Song, who can play the most under Hu Zongnan.

Zhong Song is a native of Songyang, Zhejiang, and returned to his hometown to teach after graduating from the Zhejiang Provincial 11th Normal School. In 1924, Sun Yat-sen successively founded the Whampoa Military Academy, he resolutely threw himself into the pen and applied for the Huangpu examination to successfully enter the first phase, but because he became seriously ill after entering the school, he became a student of the second phase.

Perhaps he was born a soldier, after graduating from Huangpu, he participated in the Eastern Crusade and the Northern Expedition, and his position in the army was constantly promoted, from the second lieutenant of the 1st Library of the Ordnance Department of the Military Academy, to the captain of the 2nd Company of the Mortar Battalion, to the commander of the major battalion, and then to the lieutenant colonel regiment attached and the colonel regimental commander, to the 1933 Great Wall War of Resistance Zhong Song was already the major general brigade commander of the Supplementary 2nd Brigade of the Army Training Department of the Ministry of Military Affairs.

When it comes to Zhong Song fighting Japan, he should be qualified. In 1933, he led his troops to participate in the Great Wall War of Resistance, and fought bloody battles with the Japanese army for several days at the 372 and 425 heights of the South Tianmen. After the "July 7 Incident" in July 1937, he led the independent 20th Brigade to garrison Suzhou in preparation for possible wars in the Shanghai area, and later garrisoned Songjiang and Hongqiao Airport.

At about 5:00 p.m. on August 9, 1937, Japanese Marine Lieutenant Ōyama Andao and one of his soldiers were shot and killed by soldiers of the 1st Battalion of the 659th Regiment of the defenders under Zhong Song for a hard breach of Hongqiao Airport. After the incident, the Japanese army used this as an excuse to mobilize troops. Soon after, the Battle of Songhu broke out.

On August 31, 1937, the 61st Division, which fought against the Japanese at Wusong, was downsized to a regiment due to heavy losses, and the division commander was removed. The Ministry of Military Affairs ordered the 20th Brigade to be reorganized into the division, and Zhong Song was promoted to the commander of the 61st Division major general and blocked the Japanese army along the right bank of the Tang Family House and Chen Jiaxing along the right bank of the Tang Family House and Chen Jiaxing. After the defeat of the Songhu War of Resistance, Zhong Song was placed under the command of the 17th Army in the south of Huzong, and later participated in the Battle of Lanfeng, the Battle of Wuhan and the Battle of Zhongtiao Mountain. He was also promoted from commander of the 61st Division to deputy commander of the 76th Army and deputy commander of the 2nd Army.

In 1944, Zhong Song led his troops to repel the Japanese attack in the Battle of Xiangda Guangfu and the Reconquest of Mangshi, making an important contribution to the Great Counteroffensive of Western Yunnan, and after the war, he was awarded the Order of Qingtian and White Sun by Chiang Kai-shek, and he became one of the 138 recipients of the Qingtian White Sun Medal.

At this point in the story, Zhong Song should be completely reproduced in front of us in the image of a famous anti-Japanese general.

However, the story doesn't end there. After Chiang Kai-shek tore up the "Double Tenth Agreement," the civil war began. As a general, Zhong Song also shifted from the battlefield against foreign enemies to the battlefield against compatriots of the same ethnic group.

Because of General Zhong Song's performance on the battlefield in western Yunnan, which attracted the attention of Hu Zongnan, Hu Zongnan transferred him back to Shaanxi as the commander of the 7th Army and the commander of the 36th Army, and the troops were later reduced to the 36th Division, becoming the elite soldiers under Hu Zongnan.

In the northwest battlefield, the northwest field army led by Peng Shuai should have more than enough to deal with Hu Zongnan, but it was because of Zhong Song's presence that Mr. Peng also suffered a lot and added a lot of trouble, so angry that Peng Shuai stomped his feet and scolded: "Zhong Song who can't die." Indeed, Zhong Song was like a firefighter on the battlefield here in Hu Zongnan.

For example, after Hu Zongnan occupied Yan'an, he put the main force on our army, and after Yulin was surrounded by two columns of the Northwest Field Army, Hu Zongnan urgently dispatched Zhong Song to aid Yulin, and Zhong Song personally led the main force to reinforce Yulin day and night, repelling the northwest field army's blocking defense line on the road, and most successfully liberating Yulin, so after the war Zhong Song was awarded the Baoding Medal of the Fourth Class. In the later Battle of Yiwa, the Nationalist 29th Army was severely damaged by the Northwest Field Army and attacked Luochuan, at which time Hu rushed to zhong song to help. As a result, the 3rd and 6th columns failed to attack for 22 consecutive days. Later, it reinforced Fengxiang, Baoji and other places. It can be said that in the northwest battlefield, Zhong Song served as a surprise soldier to help the battlefield many times, and made many military achievements for Hu Zongnan.

However, Hu Zongnan later put his god of war on the shelf, why?

Because Zhong Song confronted Hu Zongnan at a combat meeting on August 24, 1948, commander Hu Zongnan could not come to power, and as a result, hu Zongnan, who was angry, announced on the spot that he would be punished with "dismissal and retention", and then he was transferred out of the unit he had originally commanded. Naturally, Hu Zongnan has also gone downhill since then: he has suffered defeat all the way.

After 1949, Zhong Song went to Hong Kong, opened a restaurant, and then went to Taiwan. In 1970, he lived in the Netherlands, the United States and other places, and in 1988, he returned to his hometown of Songyang, Zhejiang Province with his son, and died on March 7, 1995 at the age of 95.
