Monitoring of the incident shows that at noon on December 24, a black Tesla sedan suddenly accelerated to the right after turning left at the intersection and crashed into the river after crashing into the guardrail by the side of the bridge.
According to the staff of the Liyang Blue Sky Rescue Team, they received a rescue notice at 12:19 and arranged for the nearest rescue team members to arrive at the scene at 12:24 and rescue them together with firefighters, public security police and enthusiastic citizens.

According to the traffic police brigade of the Liyang Municipal Public Security Bureau, at 12:16 on December 24, Chen X (male, 31 years old) drove a small car and his wife Jiang X (32 years old, all Liyang people) passing through the Xincheng Bridge in Liyang City, when he suddenly crashed into the guardrail on the east side of the bridge and fell into the river. After receiving the report, the Liyang Municipal Public Security Bureau immediately organized police forces to rush to the scene to rescue them, and linked fire fighting, the "120" emergency center, the Blue Sky Rescue Team and the surrounding masses to rescue the 2 drivers and passengers on the car to the shore for medical rescue.
